Rest of the Way?

I'd like to hear some of y'alls thoughts on how you think we'll fare the rest of the way.  Before last week, I thought we would finish 2-2 in our last four.  I knew there was no way that we'd lose to BC, VT, and Florida, and now we know that we won't.  Do you think this team can duplicate last week's play?  Not just how well they played, but how smart (much fewer penalties than usual) and mistake-free they were?

I am really jacked for this weekend's game.  I know the atmosphere in Blacksburg will be rockin, and I hope we can rise up again.

Flip a coin...
I think the chances of us playing like we did last week is a coin toss. I'm having a hard time believing Weatherford can duplicate the success he had, but it's mostly up to the O-line. As for the penalties, i think if they get up early and have confidence it will eliminate those frustrating penalties. We need those head hunters out there on defense to get pressure on whoever VT decides to start at quarterback. We can beat anyone we WANT to beat!

What if we win out?
I think we can win out. If we do beat Virginia Tech and Florida, we can end up going to a good bowl game. This site estimates the BCS rankings based on your picks for future games:

We should have beat Wake Forest. If we had, in their "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" ranking, we would be ranked in the top 10. Sigh.

Agreed
I think we can win out, but I have a very hard time believing that a program that has been defined by inconsistency over the last 5 years can play that many solid games in a row.  To me, the next three games and our bowl game are getting ready for next year.  If that team I saw last Saturday continues to develop in Trickett and Jimbo's systems, then I think we can really be a beast next year.

This isn't a "wait till next year" post by any means, but I'm really excited for the future of this program right now.  Like JBellamy, I think any success lies in the hands of the O-Line.  With time to pass and good athletes, DW can be a good QB.

In all the years, I've never had worries about the defense, other than occasional concerns about the secondary.  We need some smart offense and strong special teams, and we're going to be tough for anyone to beat.

Agree with JBellamy & Zest ...
that it depends more on how well or how poorly the Seminoles offense executes than who their opponent is on any given week; the defense has been reliable since Mickey Andrews came to town.  Frankly, I preferred the Independent days when Bobby really was the King of the Road.  The 'Noles are still capable of upsetting any team in the nation this season and might win out (I predict they will take 3 of the last 4 and win a respectable bowl game).  I'm hopeful that Fisher will achieve Richt-like consistency in 2 or 3 seasons, bolstered by Amato recruiting.
