We hope you join us today for what is sure to be another great game as we travel to the face the team with a gang sign on their helmet.

Star-divide

First things first.  If you were with us last week, you'll recall that I posted a youtube clip of the Undertaker coming back to wreck people, and analogized that to the rebirth of our offense after everyone wrote it off for dead.  I promised to include a relevant WWF clip every week.  This week I asked user Curtain Jerker to provide us with one, since he runs a WWF blog.  Well, CJ is probably busy working or something, and he didn't come through.  Like the true community that we are, however, user ZEST picked up the slack and came through with this awesome clip:

Hulk Hogan vs. Macho Man (via Lesbonic)

Here's what Zest wrote:

Macho Man and Hulk Hogan are Institutions of professional wrestling, and I feel FSU and Miami are institutions of college football. Not exactly what you may have been looking for, but this clip represtents these two guys in their prime, and I’d love to see these two programs back in their prime. It’s good for college football to have FSU and Miami fighting for a spot in the top 5.

I think he put that quite nicely.

If you are just joining us, welcome, but you have some catching up to do:

If you're not in the yellow area, you really need to be here for live game updates and analysis!

As of 2AM Central time, this is what we are looking at for Tomorrow's weather:

That's not great, but it's not terrible.

Our prediction still stands at 23-20, Noles.  We are still waiting for Nigel to go into beast mode (he updates his facebook before games, indicating that he is entering the beast mode.  Pretty cool).

I'll leave you with these videos

Today's Announcers

Brad Nessler, Bob Griese , and Paul Maguire

Good Crew

Watch how badly these 2 make fun of Maguire

They hate him. Sometimes they relegate him to some obscure place in the stadium, and it totally makes for an awkward broadcast.

LATE BREAKING NEWS

Starting weakside linebacker Colin McCarthy will not play due to a shoulder injury. (Miami)

This is big.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 4:22 AM EDT reply actions

This is pretty classless for Randy Shannon.

Coaches are required to report all injuries on Friday. McCarthy was nowhere on the report.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 4:31 AM EDT up reply actions

i agree but i don’t think it gives them any advantage by not reporting it.

Carter's INT

Great play by TC… They didn’t show many replays but it looked like Cover 2 and he read Marve’s eyes to come back and make the pick on the out route behind him… It looked very similar to the pick Alphonso Smith had against us on our 1st play of the Wake game

by nolesblogger on Oct 4, 2008 3:54 PM EDT reply actions

by nolesblogger on Oct 4, 2008 4:01 PM EDT reply actions

3rd n 7...

3 wide shotgun, straight drop, tipped, flag down, good chance we get holding.

If it’s PA, it will be negated.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 4:01 PM EDT reply actions

If this is holding it is a first down!

Its not and its PI anyways.

The right call is holding, but whatever. FSU deserved the first down.

Miami QB's

Do I really need to post?

Ironically they are 5 for 15 for 38 yards and 2 interceptions

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Which basically vindicates the analysis that you did last week

that CP7 is a better QB by far than his stats led one. It was a circus for a week on the TC

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Rushing is just ridiculous.

CP7 9 for 107 11.9 per carry
Antone 16 for 65 4.1 per carry 2 TD’s

So 5 TD’s in 2 games.

Overall we’re 26 for 174 for 6.7 a carry and 2 TD’s

And Ponder is evidently looking like Colt Fricking McCoy

Nobody touched him! Nobody within 5 yards.

Sedrick Holloway just kills him!!!!

So

Can I complain now about Jimbo fisher and BCS opponents and 30 points now?

LOL

This is Nuts

Georgia Tech eat your heart out!

I'm really glad

that kid didn’t go to LSU

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Agreed

Doc, if you could see this… he is just so smooth. I’m not sure who he compares to. He looks like his legs are moving so slowly, he just glides.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 5:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Good Grief

CP7 121 yards on 10 carry’s 12 ypc
J. Thomas 2 for 51 for 25.5 ypc
A. Smith 18 for 61 3.4 ypc

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:47 PM EDT up reply actions

I really really thought

that we wouldn’t be able to run? What is the deal? Is Miami just getting blown up?

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Run two plays

Lets see what transpires from here. Probably just a confidence thing.

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:42 PM EDT up reply actions

31-10 Kickoff... Benjamin fields it

Louis Givens makes a TD saving tackle, but this was weird.

Also, on this play: Nigel pancaked a guy, then got Pancaked, and gets up to get back in the picture! This kid is a total beast. Garvin is down on the play!

Miami starts at FSUs 41

1st n 10, Pass Interference on Mangum but nice play overall.

Fine penalty, pass was over 20 yards.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 5:54 PM EDT reply actions

2nd n 7 on FSU 22,

Throw incomplete, Carter umped the route, could have been 6. 3rd n 7 coming.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 5:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Well

If we hold them to a field goal I’ll be more than happy, but not looking like it, lol, We gave them this drive. its all penalties.

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 5:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Goddamn it

Why is OK #1 hasn’t society learned from its mistakes

by Osceola on Oct 4, 2008 6:03 PM EDT reply actions

2nd n 14, Ponder is late on the slant throw I think.

3rd n 14 coming. I expect something safe here. maybe a deep jump.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 6:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Nope

One fluke rushing play
One Trick bomb pass
One fluke int for TD
3 Field Goals

And you’ve got 29 points.

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Dude,

He’s got 134 rushing and has led us to 34 points. Defense has given up some circus plays and the INT was a freak occurence.

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 7:01 PM EDT up reply actions

Agreed

I take issue with the crazy play action out of his own end zone in a monsoon, but besides that a very very good game.

Doc, we stayed way far ahead of the chains today!

by Bud Elliott on Oct 4, 2008 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Looking at the drive chart

we were very consistent

1st Downs 27 to 15
Total Yards 442 to 257
Passing Yards 159 to 206
Rushing Yards 283 to 51 (even though we can’t run on them, there D-Line is too big)
Total Plays 85 to 65
Penalties 12/98 to 10/83
Turnovers 4 to 3
TOP 39:23 to 20:37 (Almost doubled because we controlled the game)

by DOCB on Oct 4, 2008 7:35 PM EDT reply actions

    Passing 8 8
    Rushing 18 5

I am going to eat Crow!

First plate: Jimbo, I am sorry I said you’d go into a shell, playcalling wise!

Second Plate: Offensive Line, i didn’t think you could do it.

Done...

There was no live feed to monitor the game here in Germany. I had to “watch” the game via this blog, ESPN’s website and CNNSI. I never knew that monitoring a game on-line could be so friggin’ exciting, frustrating and satisfying all at the same time.

Well done ’noles — grateful for the win but still a long way to go to regain the greatness.

Fantastic work Tomahawk Nation. The blog was as good as being there.

If you have broadband

there’s plenty of stations that stream the games

by robrrt on Oct 4, 2008 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Broadband

Any suggested links? I do have broadband but typically get spotty connectivity late in the evening when games are played, But I am willing to try.

Thanks FSU4AD

Yeah, somewhat shellshocked here.

Glad you enjoyed it.
