I get a kick out of the BCS assumptions this time of year -- most teams have 2-3 games left and at least one of those is usually against a bitter rival.
Last week the "assumption" was that Penn State would go undefeated. This week it's the that national title game will be the UF-Bama winner vs. Big 12.
I'm not so sure.
What if Missouri wins the Big 12 title game? It's certainly possible.
What if Florida loses to either S.C. or FSU, then beats Bama?
Or what if Bama loses to Auburn (if you don't think that's possible, you don't know college football -- I don't care how bad Auburn is playing, ANYTHING can happen in that series).
Any of those scenarios might put USC in the BCS title game.
Now THAT would be interesting, for this reason -- who does the Rose Bowl then take from the PAC 10? Oregon State? Arizona? All of them ALREADY have 3 losses and with more loseable games to come.
Of course, on the other hand, USC could lose again -- their offense is sputtering and anything could happen against a rival like ND.
The point is, there is a LONG way to go.
