Drew's The Man!....

....just ask him!

St. Pete Times ran a story saying the redshirt senior has never been more confident and more ready to rule the earth with his arm.

"I think this team needs a quarterback who's going to be the guy," Weatherford said. "The guy who everyone's going to rally behind and look to lead and be there the whole year; be the guy from the first snap to the last snap and know that he's going to be there and we're going to stick with that guy. That's where a great team starts, and I have confidence that I'm the guy."

Well that's makes one person.

Meanwhile the ACC Media picks FSU to finish third. My guess is they didn't get the message.

Drew

is just not an above average college qb. While he does one thing very well (avoiding interceptions—a skill with questionable staying power, given his first 2 years), his negatives are enormous. He is immobile. Drew is possibly unwilling and definitely unable to make anything resembling a difficult throw. The complete and utter lack of arm strength is obvious to any advanced observer.

Fear not, however, FSU can win with Drew. With a defense that may be dominant, all FSU needs is a consistent, mature, and conservative effort from Drew. If Drew does what he did last year, and by that I mean keeping a very low turnover rate, FSU can win 9 of 12 games.

Unfortunately, Drew’s ceiling is probably 9 wins. Ponder’s ceiling is something closer to 11 regular season games. Since we aren’t winning the MNC this year, why not let the guy with the better skills and better intelligence (Ponder is universally accepted to have a better arm, better wheels, and a better brain, with his 60 college credits coming out of high school.)

Finally, Drew’s 4 years of starting are irrelevant. Remember that Drew and Christian have an equal amount of time under Jimbo’s system. Years spent under the JB system are irrelevant and possibly detrimental.

FSU punted 76 times last year. No matter how you slice it, that is pathetic. No BCS championship team has ever had more than 50 punts in a season. A punt represents a failed drive, and really represents Drew’s career at FSU.

I'm with you there...

...I’d almost make this a fan post.

My main issue with Drew is things like this. He’s a politician, he’s means well, but his future is in politics. And in politics, it’s all about talk and promises. The great thing about football is that you’re only judged on productivity. His career numbers are perfectly ok, his productivity is lacking. So him saying he’s the man is like a promise for lower gas prices. It sounds good but does anyone believe him?

Naf,

I’ll have about a 2 page article on this very subject tomorrow on FSUncensored.blogspot I rep tomahawknation in the article. I like what your site does and read it often. I am leading the Bobby must go since ‘03 Bandwagon and I really hope that he lets Jimbo pick the QB here. We need to force him out after this season. His selfish conduct and “the emperor with no clothes” attitude are deplorable.

Drew does have a future in politics, that is for sure. Ironically, many FSU fans are also TB Buc fans, and teams employ the Bucs basic premise on defense in order to defend Drew. I’ll never hope for an injury, but I will not be disappointed if Ponder’s 1-on-1 time with Jimbo this spring vaults him ahead of Drew.

I dont like Drew at all but could be be better if there was a line, if there was a back that could run north and south not east and west. What happened at FSU what happened to the school where all Qb’s wanted to go to no one wants to go. Someone please fire Drew give Ponders a chance and let EJ brake out next year under Jimbo. Whatever happens Drew can talk the talk but we have given him 3 yr and he cant walk the walk. I dont want another year like the last 2 but with him thats whats going to happen. No one will think the ACC is a strong place for football tell FSU is back on top.
