Jimbo, Jimbo, Jimbo

Do we really want this guy as THE MAN in Tallahassee?  Jimbo is no better than Jeff. In fact, I believe Jimbo has better athletes and is consistently scoring less than Jeff. Yes, we can beat up on the FCS schools but, we are FLORIDA STATE!  Saturday was a disgrace! Week in and week out you hear Jimbo say, I have only shown half the playbook. Well time to turn the page because that half is terrible! Jimbo Fisher came in as an offensive God and has produced NOTHING. Meanwhile LSU continues to contend/ play for National Championships. So was Jimbo really the man.

Being such a strong part of the Seminole Nation I hate to dog out any coach. However, this has got to stop. Jimbo produce or go home!

Sorry if this post offends anyone... but it’s true!

Let's break this down
I believe Jimbo has better athletes and is consistently scoring less than Jeff.

The first part of that is subjective. I’d say that he has better athletes than Jeff’s last year, but not better athletes than Jeff’s first few years. The second part of this is not subjective. Dig up the numbers, vs. acc teams, and we will have a look.

Jimbo is no better than Jeff

I am shocked that people are arguing this. There is a reason Jeff doesn’t have a job.

Week in and week out you hear Jimbo say, I have only shown half the playbook. Well time to turn the page because that half is terrible!

Please use some common sense here. First, no team uses their entire playbook 3 games into the year. Second, you wouldn’t expect him to be anything but vanilla against WCU and UTC

Jimbo Fisher came in as an offensive God and has produced NOTHING.

Where was he hailed as an offensive God? I said he was a good offensive coach who could really recruit.

Meanwhile LSU continues to contend/ play for National Championships. So was Jimbo really the man.

The man who built LSU, Nick Saban, wanted Jimbo at 700K/ year, you decide.

Do I think he is a great offensive coach? No. I do think he will be a very good head coach once Bobby ends this charade.

Don't take me wrong

In no way am I saying I was a fan of Jeff. I was just trying to make the point that we have done little to improve on the position. Yes, Jeff was not an offensive juggernaut but his offense DID score more than Jimbo’s. 3 points in a home ACC opener is just unacceptable to this fan. I have come to expect more from the great tradition of FSU football and maybe I have been spoiled…. but 3 points?? Wake may contend for the ACC this year but I fear without a better showing on offense we may be in for some long days vs. the rest of the ACC.

As for the playbook comment: I just feel that whatever portion of the playbook he was showing the other night he could have done more. I understand in the first 2 he may hold back, but c’mon this is a nationally ranked ACC opponent. If one things not working move on, dig deeper, and find a way to score.

Please!?

You realize we are playing a bazilion freshman and first year starters on offense right?

Jiminie Christmas waith till year four to even make this post!

I disagree! Year 4?

Things don’t work that way in CFB anymore. If this offense isn’t top 20 in CFB next year, Jimbo will deserve some serious heat.

Clarify

I believe the turn around will begin next year…but title competition (which is when I say we are back by our standards) will begin in year….4 (this being year two of coarse)

The question is

Why is it taking 4 seasons to turn things around? Should have taken no more than 2.

Don't take life to seriously, you'll never get out alive.

the answer is

We have almost all first year starters on offense this year. It will take this year to gain experience and next year to show you something!

by truecolors on Oct 6, 2008 7:24 AM EDT reply actions

I agree.

Next year we will lose Surrency, Carr, Owens, and Possibly Goodman and Parker.

Even with those losses, this offense will be the strength of the team.
