Colorado Buffaloes at Florida St. Seminoles, Sep 27, 2008 3:30 PM EDT

Colorado_old1_mediumFlorida_st_old12_medium

I'll be liveblogging the games throughout the day!  Stop in and share your thoughts.  This is a great place to keep up with the game(s) if you don't get the game in your area!  Stop in and see the Tomahawk Nation guys talk about the 'Noles, and other games throughout the day!  We'd love for you to post your thoughts, observations, and reactions as well!

If you haven't already checked out the Tomahawk Nation Preview: make sure that you do so!  Also, happy birthday to USER jds07d!

I need some volunteers!  We need one person to Tivo the our game and the Miami game, in case our Tivo were to break.  Why?  Because, if our Tivo breaks down, you can save the blog and be the hero by sending us a copy, for us to break down and share our thoughts off of, with you.  If you're up for the task, let us know in the comment section.

If you're participating in entertainment purposes only style action today, let us know that as well.  Always interesting to see who you have.

Official Tomahawk Nation Updates

  • 9:45 AM: Nigel Bradham is in beast mode (updating his facebook from his blackberry).
  • We're hearing that Greenlee is out at tackle, and Tonga is in.  Okay, "source", you're on the spot here.
  • 2:38 EST UPDATE: Ron Cherry is reffing this game.  He is a bad referee.  Hopefully none of our guys will get called for "giving him the business."

should we be expecting parker to play a in more defined role and playing one position more often?

by ahouls on Sep 27, 2008 3:22 PM EDT reply actions

Parker

Not entirely… Jimbo will try to get the ball in Parker’s hands very often with many different looks to try to get matchups. If Parker is lined up on a LB than thats a matchup he’ll win a vast majority of the time.

Yeah

Will probably be more defined. I don’t like it, I’d rather have him play everything.

good half of blogging

Ponder’s misses: mostly his fault? I know you said there was at least one drop.

by andy_wooster on Sep 27, 2008 5:28 PM EDT reply actions

I don't want to comment totally until I review the tape in slow mo, but

One was forston running a wrong route
One was batted down (the “pick” where he caught it and then fumbled, counts as a pick)
One was a middle screen that never developed and he drilled into the ground
One was a drop.
One was a BEAUTIFUL ball to easterling in end zone, which was caught but easterling couldn’t get foot down
One was the 3rd n 16 before half, ball into end zone drilled.

That’s 6 that weren’t bad throws or bad reeds, of the top of my head.

Defense

Very concerned about pass defense — we SHOULD have given up 21-plus points that half — WIDE OPEN receivers past our deepest defender. Harper/Tebow/etc. won’t miss those receivers.

by andy_wooster on Sep 27, 2008 5:41 PM EDT up reply actions

On 90% of the carries,

it was the LINE. They are using their quickness a lot. Not trying to drive block, but we are using angles, leverage, and quicks.

The Antone run was special, he did a shake to draw the defender into the blocker.

I'm going to have to spread the word

this was great for people that can’t watch, and its very very helpful to have someone that can directly answer questions/not having to hit F5 for updates.

I really appreciate it

Its really hard getting people to actually call the game and say whats going on, even in the WC chat. The live blog updates are slow and the gametracker usually updates way faster than they post. Plus the people say crap like “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!” without posting what the hell is going on. So its very frustrating trying to make out what is happening in the game. So I really do appreciate you doing this and I will definitely be here for every game that you’re doing.

Ponder's misses:

One was forston running a wrong route
One was batted down (the “pick” where he caught it and then fumbled, counts as a pick)
One was a middle screen that never developed and he drilled into the ground
One was a drop.
One was a BEAUTIFUL ball to easterling in end zone, which was caught but easterling couldn’t get foot down
One was the 3rd n 16 before half, ball into end zone drilled.

in the second half, we had one more drop.

out of the 12 misses, thats my read on 7 of them.

I'm hoping

that we can get this thing rolling. Ponder is able to get his completions up. I’d have really liked to see D’Vontrey, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of him,

Rushing, wow, 259 yards

See, the public would say 10 for 22 for 120, pull him, but...

He has very very few bad throws today.

I’ll have the full review up tomorrow.
