The greatest college QB of all time?

We all know that Tim Tebow's tears cure cancer. I mean that's a given. I started thinking about Tebow, and they keep calling him the best college qb ever. Why dont they ever talk about this....

Let me preface this by saying Tim Tebow is an outstanding quarterback, who is both extremely tough and a winner. On top of that, he is an anomaly in regards to his running ability at the QB position. He's extremely durable, and whooped us last year with a broken hand. I would also take him on FSU in a heartbeat. He seems like a great person, and is very hard to dislike. .
But that being said, I get very tired of hearing that Tim Tebow could best quarterback in College Football history. .

.
Let me throw out a few things that might change your mind...
.
.
11-5 as a starting quarterback
.

Peyton Manning started all 4 years at
. .
Has never lead his team to a 4th quarter comeback
.
He is 0-5 when his team goes into the 4th quarter behind. That includes the loss Saturday to Ole Miss. Shouldn’t the best QB ever be able to lead a comeback? I will contend that if that extra point goes through against Ole Miss, it's almost a given that UF pulls that game out in OT. But that is still a dismall record for an "all time great". Heck, Brian Griese just did it two weeks in a row, and he sucks.
.
.
.
He is a system QB
.
.
The spread offense is set up for huge offensive numbers. You do not hear people arguing Chase Daniels (who is putting up video game numbers) as being the best QB of all time. Same goes for another Urban protégé....

Pretty damn similar. And Alex Smith might go down as the most over paid and over hyped pro QB prospects ever. First pick in the NFL draft, now a backup on a bad
.
Not saying that Tebow is not talented, or a very good football player. What I am saying, is he isn’t the best college QB of all time. Heck he isn’t even close. You can't judge greatness on stats. The guy has to prove to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is unstoppable.

Also, it seems to me that in UF's last 5 losses,
(OLE MISS, MICHIGAN, GEORGIA, LSU, AUBURN)
All of these teams have had a very special edge rusher type (except Georgia, where Tebow was really hurt and not a serious running threat). Check it out:
Ole Miss- Greg Hardy (first round draft choice at DE or OLB)
Michigan- Lamar Woodley (stud OLB, drafted by Pittsburgh Steelers)
LSU- Tyson Jackson (many feel he is the best DE in the Nation. I don’t, but he’s in the conversation)
Auburn- Quentin Groves, stud DE, now for Jax Jaguars.
None of these teams really stopped Tebow. What they did do, however, was disrupt Florida’s offense enough to give themselves a shot to win.
I think this is an indictment of UF’s offense and Urban Meyer’s stubbornness. Let’s see if he makes adjustments.

Correction
Woodley was drafted in 2007, and was not on last years UM squad. Graham and Jamison were their ends.

The question I have, is when do they go back to Tebow carrying the run game?

Ah, my bad
Shawn Crable was the guy bringing heat off the edge.
Michigan runs a 3-4, and Auburn ran some against them last year. Any chance teams attempt to mix their fronts more against UF?
I’m not sure if Tebow CAN carry the run game right now. They have NO other threats outside of Percy, and that is killing them. Teams focus on Percy and Timmy. No Ingram, No Caldwell.

Love the shot of Urlacher over Alex Smith
I’m almost positive I was at that game. The Bears played the Niners twice at home in 2005 (super windy day when Vasher returned a missed FG 108 yards for the TD as teh first half expired) and 2006 (beatdown city). I was at the 2005 game, but I don’t remember if the Bears wore orange that day.
I think the Bears wear orange when Halloween is near…
Anyway, back to Tebow. I used to live with a big UF fan, and he agrees 100% about your assessment of the stud DE theory. He says that if teams attack Tebow from a side, as opposed to up the middle, you’ll be able to fluster him. I vividly remember Q-Groves just blowing up play after play against Florida (and a lot of other teams; I really wanted the Bears to get him, but I’m happy with Matt Forte).
Brian Griese does suck, last week’s comeback against my Bears notwithstanding. I don’t mind the Bucs because of the awesomeness that is Derrick Brooks.

Miami really dictated which side UF would go to
with directional blitzing.
The major criticism people have with the UF offense is the lack of hot routes.
Georgia doesn’t have that guy this year. LSU does. Expect LSU to try to run clock the whole game, beat up UF’s average defensive interior, and then get their offense out of sync.

It won't be hard to run the ball
with Charles Scott. That guy is the real deal.

LSU isn't going to play for the MNC, but
they could have a HUGE impact on the game.
They have a great shot to beat Bama, since their DLine can hold up against Bama’s run, and Their OLine can block NG Cody.
