This game is absolute proof that Defense is always better to have than offense.

Think about it?

I think we would still be losing coach!

I knew

when i saw 1st and goal from inside the 5 we would not be getting a TD.

First half obs

1) There only one observation: We are in total disarray and lacking any discipline.

Everything else flows from that.

by Fsued on Oct 22, 2009 9:44 PM EDT reply actions

LMAO

Fire this embarrassment now. That’s the one silver lining, I get to enjoy Bowden’s argument for returning crumble around him.

FSU favored in 2nd half. They are out-gaining UNC 4.2 YPP to 3.8 YPP

Dude

You can’t get too caught up in the numbers.

Look at their faces, their non-verbals.

This team is completely falling apart.

by Fsued on Oct 22, 2009 9:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Ahh yes.

Evidence bad. Voodoo good.

by MattDNole on Oct 22, 2009 9:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Evidence is fine

But this team has ZERO belief it can win the game.

by Fsued on Oct 22, 2009 9:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Avg start

for UNC, is their own 33. Ran 36 plays.

FSU’s is own 32, 25 plays.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 22, 2009 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks for the info.

Just enough to make a difference. Particularly due to the fact that they are stringing plays (longer series) together.

Big plays

We got lucky on what could have been two very big pass plays that would have changed those stats significantly. If the secondary keeps letting WR run right past them I think that will change in their favor in the 2nd half.

Redzone O

Is anyone else concerned with the way things are handled when the offense gets down there? If JF is gonna be our head coach, this needs to be addressed

by DamonH on Oct 22, 2009 9:50 PM EDT reply actions

It's been more successful than you remember...the failures stand out

But, regardless, the question I posed to badknees was, what does Jimbo’s playcalling inside the 10 have to do with his ability to be our next head coach? You realize he won’t be the offensive coordinator, right?

It wont if he isnt calling plays.

Speed is a great asset; but it's greater when it's combined with quickness - and there's a big difference.

Yes and no. The process is mostly correct. In fact statistics show that teams that can move the ball will win out at the end of the day (not necessarily this year but over time). Teams that score a lot of points but don’t have the yardage behind it tend to be more up and down. There have been mistakes to be sure but it hasn’t consistently been the same mistake.

watch the replay

jimbo and ponder thought we called a TO, and Ponder did.

jimbo was pissed

Ponder ibviously called TO.

by jswhit on Oct 22, 2009 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Inside the 10 with the defense collapsed is....

by far the most difficult area to execute your offense especially against a top caliber defense. Our lack of a true power running game makes us one dimensional, which makes it even more difficult. If we could choose, we would choose not to end up in that situation this much but we take what the defense gives us. You take your shots, sometimes it happens for you and sometimes not.

Word is

that Coaches thought Ponder signaled for Timeout. Not sure I buy that.

by Bud Elliott on Oct 22, 2009 9:54 PM EDT reply actions

He did signal

immediately after the penalty was called, but they never granted the T/O. I was watching CP. He walked right up to the ref signaling T/O…

by Pinto on Oct 22, 2009 9:56 PM EDT up reply actions

watch jimbo

hes says twice, “he called timout”

by jswhit on Oct 22, 2009 9:57 PM EDT up reply actions

No excuse, though

It became clear that the clock was running, they should have just called it then instead of taking the flag.

by Fsued on Oct 22, 2009 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't know, but ...

There is no way their timeout could have already been over. Should have been obvious that it was never accepted.
