Also looking forward to the Miami/Clemson game.

Wow.

UVA defense > Our defense?

by jasonole59 on Oct 24, 2009 12:48 PM EDT reply actions

I like the 3-4 against GT's option

looked good yesterday…don’t be fooled by the final score. UVa had guys in position all day to limit the option, they just had an obscene number of missed tackles. Those, the ridiculous TOP advantage caused by an inept UVa offense, and a few long bombs to Thomas bailed GT out.

by DKfromVA on Oct 25, 2009 11:45 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, don't be fooled, it should have been much worse.

UVA sucks. I am laughing hard at anyone that goes to that school.

by FSUSOM on Oct 25, 2009 11:53 AM EDT up reply actions

Won't argue that. I don't root for them.

But do you not like the 3-4 against the option?

>>---l>

by DKfromVA on Oct 25, 2009 11:55 AM EDT up reply actions

No definitely not

But I’m thinking in terms of when FSU supposedly/hopefully starts running it. I think Kirby/Manny/whoever could definitely have one.

by DKfromVA on Oct 25, 2009 11:59 AM EDT up reply actions

Have to have an elite NG to do it

defending the dive phase is impossible in the 3-4 without that.

by SWFLNole. on Oct 25, 2009 11:59 AM EDT up reply actions

The value of a 3-4 run right

Is that you create another opportunity to stop the run from the 2nd level (i.e., extra LB). As such, you want a NG that will occupy two OL. Having said that your two “DEs” in a 3-4 need to be able to stop the OG or OT from getting to the next level on a block.

IMO, a 3-4 really just messes with OL play, which against a run-oriented team like GT could prove very useful.

Right now I’d like to see FSU run a 3-4 (right now) with the following personnel: McCray at NT, Mcdaniel and Dawkins at DE, Bradham and Smith at ILB, Watson and Carr at OLB. Maybe use White as a rush LB in certain situations. He does have speed.

by ricobert1 on Oct 25, 2009 1:52 PM EDT up reply actions

UVA's defense would have been better

but they were hindered by having to wear shorts that don’t make it to their knees and backwards hats that show their bangs.

Typical USF

Even Jesse Palmer during the USF/Cincy game made the comment that just because they beat FSU 1 time doesn’t mean they’ve arrived at the next level. He said they have to win something first..i.e…their conference.

by jasonole59 on Oct 24, 2009 1:01 PM EDT up reply actions

USF has a yearly collapse that starts around the end of october.

if we scheduled them around this time it would have been a blowout.

Quick hit and run because I have to leave to go to the UM/Clemson game and I am already late.
GO CLEMSON!

I realize it is in our best interest for Clemson to lose. However since I can’t take UM being better than us, I had to get that out of the way now because I got the free tickets from some UM bud’s and I won’t be able to openly root against the scUM Thugs while at the game for fear of being stabbed or shot, especially since I will be sitting amongst them, although in the safer Alumni area.

While I will not be able to openly pull for Clemson, I will be doing so internally.

HYPOCRITICAL-YOU BETCHA AND PROUD OF IT.

GO CLEMSON!

Also USF is getting pounded by Dave Wannstache’s team 31-7-HAHAHAHA!

Will UF score on Bama?

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

Sorry bout that.

I pulled out the magic 8 ball, shook it real good and asked id the Tide will score at least one point against the Gators. The answer is “Yes, it is decidedly so” =) That game will be good. Seems like Saban got Butch Davis syndrome and decided that his power running game doesn’t work inside the redzone. I think he’ll change his play calling from here on out.

Bama played really flat today

they looked slow and beat up. The bye couldn’t have come at a better time for them.

watching the OU-Kansas game

What a joke the Big 12 is. It’s all garbage. Even Texas is terrible. You watch. They’ll lose to OK State next saturday. The idea that it’s better than the ACC is hilarious….

I'll say this again

but alabama has some big DT’s

clemson

Is going to be tough to beat!!!

Sounds like the same offensive scheme we used at NC may work ie pistol, 4 wides

its possible

CP7 could have a big day against climpson

by montverdenole on Oct 24, 2009 6:46 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

wait

What am I thinking, climpson will have 400 yards rushing against us

by montverdenole on Oct 24, 2009 6:56 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Wow.

Another blocked kick for Tennessee. Tennessee played a helluva game, though.

To get into FG range mmm… come on miami? /duck

Looks like Ralph Friedgen might not make it back at MD

Losing to Duke can’t help his cause. Too bad, if it happens as I like him. Plus, we have his/their number. Maybe Zorn could take over.

!@#%^!#% Clemson

by StM on Oct 24, 2009 7:24 PM EDT reply actions

Not a shock.

Clemson seems to have some loyal fans, and there is, after all, an abundance of Miami fans, 99% of whom have no ties to the university.

by Drew J Jones on Oct 24, 2009 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions

I just realized Clemson plays a 1AA next week, so that’s basically two weeks to prepare for us. USF played three crappy teams before us, giving them at least three weeks to prepare. NC State has this week off, giving them two weeks to prepare. UF plays FIU before us, giving them more time (not that they need it).

Anyone watchin the Miss State game?

They are winning 3-0. Would love for this score to hold up.

They SLAMMED Teabag

at the goal line!!!1 GO Mississippi State!!!

by Miaminole on Oct 24, 2009 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions

It's a shame.

If Miss State’s quarterback could throw to save his life, this might be a good game.

by Drew J Jones on Oct 24, 2009 8:19 PM EDT reply actions

if only we had a D. Our O is good enough to play w/ anyone I watched today. Sadly I’m afraid we have yet to witness the bottom for our D. Spiller will go career and UF is gonna kill us.

MISS STATE

100+ yd INT RETURN FOR A TD BEFORE THE HALF……

GO BABY GO

by Miaminole on Oct 24, 2009 8:50 PM EDT reply actions

They needed that

If not, it was going to be a long night for MSU

by CSI Nole on Oct 24, 2009 8:56 PM EDT up reply actions

did you hear the announcers after teabags pick six?

they managed to praise him for his ‘competitievness’ for wanting to score on that play even as theyre replaying it

even as he throws a pick-six they still find cause to slob his knob..

by 000111 on Oct 24, 2009 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions

That fumble call on the INT

for TD that went in Floridas favor was one of the worst missed calls of the season. The replay was fairly clear that he was well out of the end zone when he lost the ball. Miss St has now played UF, LSU and Houston tight. Alabama needs to take them seriously in a couple of weeks.

In consectuve weeks the refs have hosed UF’s competition. I’m really beginning to think the fix is in.

Seriously, this isnt even bc I hate them

I dont know that I have ever seen so many correctable calls left wrong.

Karma better handle this shit.

by Miaminole on Oct 25, 2009 2:19 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm not saying we're ging to win, because I am not...

But the more I watch UF play, the less I’m convinced they are as good as I thought to begin the year. FSU gets them a week before they play Alabama in the SEC title game. It’s going to be much closer than any of us imagined. Very similar to the GT game…

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.

Still, I think our O is at least comparable to Arky

And they were able to move the ball most of the game I wouldn’t be surprised if we put up more points than anybody does against UF—and still lose by 3 scores

by kmpnole12 on Oct 25, 2009 12:37 PM EDT up reply actions

But they'll be focused for US

We’re not a letdown game. They are off a bye. They played Arky after playing @ LSU

Our offense is MUCH better than Arkansas, please don’t compare them to Arkansas ;)

I’ll say 52-27 UF

by Bud Elliott on Oct 25, 2009 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Against that defense?

I’d say 52-14

I think their defensive line is very over-rated. They are playing a lot of man coverage and blitzing to bring pressure. If FSU can get open against man, I believe you will score some points. Your defense will be torn apart, though. Mickey Andrews will simply not adjust.

by gahnki on Oct 25, 2009 1:09 PM EDT up reply actions

UM

I have to agree with Frank I am never going to enter any discussion and admit electronically, on paper or by voice that Miami is better than us. Enough here.

I said earlier in the year if FSU did not win 9 I would cut off one of my fingers yakuza style. I was lying I am not going to.

It was unnerving watching the Clemson offense. Parker is short 6-0 but he can really sling the football. A big aggressive front four could cause him some problems but we don’t have one.

I predict the UF game score UF 65, FSU 40
