Cool info on coach and Asst. coach salaries

Assuming that Kevin Steele and Kirby Smart are the highest paid Asst. coaches on their staff they make between 375-390k.

Fun Excercise

This chart is in reference to the above link. Baseball analysts love to analyze payroll versus win production so I thought I would try it in CFB. There are obvious flaws in this and we should probably wait towards the end of the season to make final judgment, but I am bored and love this type of stuff.

I took the Top 20 HC salaries, added their assistant coach payroll then ranked them highest to lowest. Then took that total and divided that into current number of wins thus resulting in how much it is cost for ever win. I didn’t include Southern Cal or Wake Forest because they do not disclose their assistant coach’s payroll.

We are definitely not getting our monies worth at ~1.2 million per win but that is nothing we do not already know. Oklahoma leads the way but it is hardly the coach’s fault when your 2 best players go down with season ending injuries.

Coaches with asterisks manage teams that are currently ranked. Kudos to GT for getting the best bargain for the buck.

I feel confident in saying we'll pass OU by season's end

Well

OU has 3 games left → TAMU, @ TT, OSU and a bowl (assuming they win 1 of those 3 games). I think they’ll win 3 of those 4 games and possibly all 4. That would put them at a lower total per win than us.

Arkansas’ got 3 games left, Troy, MSU, and @ LSU and a bowl (assuming they win 1 of those 3). I think they win the 2 home games and which would put them at a better ratio per win than us.

I don’t think we beat Wake or UF, but still have a shot vs Maryland. If we only win that 1 game, our staff will be the highest paid/win.

Des, Raycom isn't a channel per se.

Check your listings. Depending on your location right now (I’m pretty sure you’re on Tobacco Road – or Pensacola?), I’m certain someone carries the ACC Game of the Week. (Raycom’s words, not mine.)

ESPN360.com is carrying the game

I wonder if it has anything to do with the weather?

The Spectator Index helps give you an idea of how comfortable you’ll feel while watching the game, or tailgating beforehand.

I was just trying to add the first weather related post to the weather outlook fanpost...

I’ve seen some that say that the weather is supposed to hold out until after the game, but from what i’m seeing, that is not the case.
