Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

Here on AC's Chopping Block, someone asked if it was true if BB is returning next year. Since my panick alarm is going off, I thought I'd post this to see if anyone from TN has heard this rumor. Any word about this?!?

I think we've known that he intends to stay for a while.

His intention and what actually happens are not necessarily the same. From what I understand from reading here is that there will be more incentive for him to leave than stay. Read the part in the “Who is Bowden Kidding” where FSUn talks about thw 1 and 3 million dollar options.

As has been said by myself and multiple others...

you can’t return if you don’t have a contract.

Thanks guys...

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Let’s hope we’re right. :/

didn’t his wife said, Bowden was planning to coach at least two more years?

Somebody set us up the Bowden. All your field are belong to us.

This might be a dumb question, but....

I understood that the only agreement still in force was an “option” for one more year. Does FSU have to give him one more year if he asks for it, or not?

They don’t have to renew him, it is only an option. He WANTS to return. He thinks by constantly saying it in the media it will make it become true. “No way FSU will go against MY word.” Who knows if the admin will step up to him.

He is coming back....

because he says so and noone at FSU will say other wise.

He will also continue to get in Jimbos way in fixing things. Even if there is a contract, who is going to enforce it? What if Bobby says to punt the ball and JF wants to go for it next year? How do you handle something like that? You think Bobby will give a damn what some contract says? It could get ugly.

The most telling sign IMHO will be if Amato gets fired. Then it will be when he gets fired…..if it is RIGHT after the UF game, then that says to me, Bobby has lost…..but if it bleeds into January, that means Bobby is fighting this and things are a bigger mess than we thought.

Either way, Bobby is doing massive damage to this program right now and it sucks to watch.
