er, defense*

That was a Freudian slip from the Jeff Bowden days, I swear!

LOL

We are the only team with a .500 record in the top 25. Prob helps that our SOS is 3 and we haven’t lost by any large margin except for CU and USF (which weren’t blow outs). If only our defense wasn’t hovering around 90………

if our defense was even in the 50's

we’d be 9-1 or 10-0 right now.

Jimbo’s offense is amazing. Elite.

I don't think you can assume that

Notre Dame is 6-4 with a O-3 and D-57
Miami is 6-3 with a O-7 and D-16
Oregon is 8-2 with a O-8 and D-20
VT is 7-3 with a O-10 and D-15

This is intriguing to me

What do we think VT’s problem is, then? Statistically they perform very well, yet they just can’t be an elite team. The knock was always the offense, but we see that they don’t perform nearly as badly as many think. I know they don’t have the resources of FSU and they do well at maximizing what they have, but how in the world does a team with an O-10 D-15 ranking not get to 10 wins?

Coaching?

I have never thought Beamer managed games very well.

If they win out, which they should, plus a bowl game victory they will get to 10 wins. That would make 7 out of the last 8 years..

They lost to two better teams...

and their defense isn’t anywhere near as good as it has been in the past. It’s still a very good team.

They have 3 losses but their schedule is tremendous, 5th in the country.

Guys, if you take out Nebraska and E carolina and Alabama and lay 3 shit teams, you can easily stay healthier and more focused o the conference games.

Which is also suprising...

Mostly due to Hopkins, but even the punt return coverage and few kick returns have been covered fairly well.

Do we credit Jody with that?

Shawn Powell anyone?

1/3 of his punts land inside the 20. Only had 3 touchbacks all season.

well considering our games and how close they were

if our defense had gotten one more stop, we would have won most of our games.

Maybe I should have clarified, “if our defense had gotten one or two more stops” we would be in much better shape, but I guess that’s obvious.

crap

that was in reply to RaysnNoles

Strength of Schedule

3rd. Does that mean I shouldn’t feel as crappy as I do about our record?

you know Im not all that upset right now.

this season sucks. Last season sucked. But the best thing is that sence JB left and JF took over the offense has muched improved. however the Def is falling off so If we get a guy to come in and help out we could bounce right back into the mix.
