Maryland Terrapins at Florida St. Seminoles Gamethread

Maryland Terrapins at Florida St. Seminoles, Nov 21, 2009 12:00 PM EST

No pics in the gamethread.

Safety Myron Rolle will never forget a Thursday practice when Andrews told the defensive backs they had to shave their chest hair before getting on the plane the next day, telling them they weren't "man enough to have hair on your chest anyway."

With that, Andrews exposed his "jungle" of chest hair. A player then bet Andrews that he wouldn't remove his chest hair and with that ...

"And he starts grabbing chunks of hairs off his chest and ripping it out," said Rolle, now in England on a Rhodes Scholarship. "We all started yelling and running away like little school girls. ... I will laugh at his funny quips and jokes for the rest of my life, but I will apply the values and lessons of hard work and discipline every day in every facet of my life."

ESPN 360

un: noles4eva
pass: noles4eva

Pulled that off WC early in the year, but since then, Cox has picked up 360, so I’m not sure if it still works.

Very much appreciated, Klak

No 360 up here yet, but naturally we get BIG 10 network… depressing

If not for anything else

I hope the entire Defense steps up their game today .So Mickey can go out with the last ACC game of his career as a W and a chance to get a Bowl because you know we do not have a snowballs chance in hell against the Gators Would suck to see Mickey Take a Loss as his final game.
If we get a bowl game Mickey will atleast get the opportunity to go out with the final game as a Win.. Hopefully !.

WIN ONE FOR THE MICKEY ! GO NOLES !

Corso: 9-10 wins next year for FSU

Lee Corso just said that he fully expects Bobby to return for a farewell tour next year, but that Jimbo (he first says Jumbo and corrects himself) will hire a new defensive staff himself, and that FSU will have a successful year next year with 9-10 wins at least.

by basaltrock on Nov 21, 2009 11:11 AM EST reply actions

I have lost all love and respect for Corso

He is a Putz IMO…
And did you hear what Ann Bowden said?

“You know, we don’t need the university as much as they need us — as much as they need him and his connections and reputation and everything,” Ann Bowden told USA Today. "If they want to pull that trick (and force Bobby to retire), we’ll just shake the dirt off our feet and go to Europe or go on a long cruise or something.

“They’ll have to fire him for him not to go another year … If they’ve got guts enough to do it, let them do it.”
It is just so damn sad…

Yeah saw those quotes on FSU as well

Been trying to dig info out of contacts since Jim Smith came out with his comments. At first I heard T.K. would save Bowden as his final swan song. Then I heard the university was tired of losing revenue and the comments made by Bowden and his wife was embarrassing to the university and there was no chance of him returning. Now my contacts have shut up and this is worrying. Bowden coming back as merely a figurehead and for a farewell tour next year is looking more and more likely. The university will look to rake in revenue by packing Doak for his last year and move on to the Jimbo era.

by 1newplayer on Nov 21, 2009 11:55 AM EST up reply actions

Already thought of it.

Been drinking preemptively for months.

by Drew J Jones on Nov 21, 2009 11:57 AM EST up reply actions

Also heard recently

they think bringing Bowden back will help recruiting. Players will want to come for Bowden’s last year and be able to say one day they played for Bowden in his last year at FSU. Offensive players will know they are going to a strongly led FSU offense led by Fisher and CP. Defensive players will know they will have a chance to play right away with new coaches and a struggling defense. The allure to bring him back and the revenue and coverage the university would get might be to much for them to pass up. They all wish Ann would shut up though.

by 1newplayer on Nov 21, 2009 12:07 PM EST up reply actions

You don't have to tell me

It is amazing what the heads at FSU are thinking these days. Like I said though everyone has shut up recently and that is scary.

by 1newplayer on Nov 21, 2009 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

Thigns Are Too Quiet

There is no way he is leaving, today is Mickey’s day, based on how important Bowden is (thinks he is) he is going to require a lot more fanfare. He’s been mailing it in for years, I can’t wait to see what it will be like when he doesn’t have to worry about his future.

by vanillathrilla83 on Nov 21, 2009 12:34 PM EST up reply actions

Ann's quote is the crock heard 'round the world

She is more ridiculous than her husband, if possible.

by PhillyNole on Nov 21, 2009 12:00 PM EST up reply actions

Offer Bowden 1 million to coach with no powere what so ever

or 3 million to just leave and STHU and we’ll see which what he choses. Cryin to the public that there forcing you out is one thing but crying that 1 million isn’t enought will get you no sympathy with the public, imo.
