PS- There had been some thought that Chuck Amato would be WKU's next head coach. No matter, he is still gone after the UF game and will stop sabotaging FSU's program. Have no fear, FSU fans, recruits are already laughing at him and talking about him in the past tense).

I mean… maybe he’s hearing Chuck might stay so he’s fighting extra hard to go away.

Coach Amato
He was one of the best coaches that i have have the pleasure of being around. He taught lots of misdirected youths the value of acting like a man instead of some two bit thug on the street. He is very well respected by his former players…. and i can say that he had a positive impact on my life… a little respect towards the man would be the least that us, as Seminole fans, could have for the man. Just my Opinion.
He lost my respect when he turned FSU into his personal piggy bank and did nothing in return

I am concerned with what he has done in his return trip to FSU, and that is a piss-poor job of coaching some very talented linebackers. In addition, he has directly and intentionally undermined the efforts of the coaches who are trying to bring Florida State back. His actions over the past few years here are embarrassing.
If he had come back and attempted to be a good linebacker coach instead of acting like an egomaniac hellbent on nothing but getting another head coaching job, I would be all for Amato.

If he had come back as a volunteer
it would be different. We’re paying this man to do a job and he has no interest in doing what he is being paid to do.
I'd still be upset even if he was a volunteer.
Waste of space and our players efforts.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let me explain why I hate Amato more than any other coach on staff.
He has single-handedly done more to destroy this program than any other person, including Jeff Bowden.
For 6 years he fought tooth and nail to destroy us. As he should have. It was his job as the Head Coach of NC State. But he did us absolutely no favors on the recruiting trail or in the media during that time. Those of you who have been around long enough remember the Weatherford Report and how Amato basically gave teams the blueprint on how to own our offense.
Then suddenly, after he is fired at NC State, he is HANDED our LB coach job. It was a freaking charity. Bobby hired him because they were friends.
Did Amato repay the kindness by working harder than he had ever worked before? Nope. He sat back and collected a check, got pissy when Jimbo Fisher was named HCIW instead, and undermined the decisions of the man selected to lead our program into the future.
Chuck Amato has signed 2 recruits since 2006: Maurice Harriss and Aaron Gresham (the other linebackers we have signed were due to other coaches ie Nigel Carr or were absolute locks ie Nigel Bradham).
His failures as an LB coach and recruiter have been killing us for years. Ask some south Florida high school coaches and players what they think of his efforts. Ask Phillip Thomas. Ask Lamarcus Joyner. Amato has crushed us for years. And it’s all because he is simply too lazy to work and too proud to follow direction.
So no. I don’t respect him.

he is a scumbag who used FSU much in the manner Bobby is now using FSU.
I am done with these coaches who only serve themselves despite their HIUGE paychecks.
DGreenFSU66, Thanks for joining and posting your thoughts. All opinions are welcomed, but you will probaby get little sympathy or support with your position on Amato, so don't take it personally.
Amato was a very good coach in the 90’s and around 1996 when you knew him. However, after he was humiliated at NCST, he came back to Tally a changed person. He was bitter, he felt he should be more than a LB coach (thus the Exec. Head Coach title Bobby bestowed on him), he thought he would get snatched up by another college as HC right away, and he didn’t do one damn thing to help our recruiting effort.
I don’t expect to change your opinion, because you knew him personally and have formed your own opinions of the man. But if you want to understand some of the hostility that some of us feel, this might be a good place to start. Please read the readers comments after my thoughts also. I am not trying to get you to change the way you feel, but this is the way I felt June 21, 2009, and my opinion of him as a coach has since deteriorated even further since then.

Offended at the association
As a former professional clown, I am offended to be associated in any way with Amato. He is no where near the level of professionalism, maturity, and awesomeness that many clowns show every day. Hell, most carnies are better than Amato. Hey Chuck, I think there’s a job opening at next year’s North Florida Fair working the fraudulent game booths… the perfect job for a fraud.
