Thank you Bob
Often it is the memory of those that love us the most that make it so hard to let go. Whether its a father watching his son put on a helmet for the first time, or that very same son sitting by his side during his final hours--the legacies that we leave in this life, the legacies that we are bound to create--bind and blind us during our hours of reckoning.
So on this eve of anticipation, during this hour of reckoning, let us forge from this storm the memory of a great man--a man, who even in his twilight hour, embodies what it means to be a Florida State Seminole.
Unconquered: is Bobby Bowden. Unconquered in his spirit and unconquered in his soul. No better suited is an end for a man who never backs away from a fight; never quits on the ones that he loves. And while his vision may be impaired and while we may question his intentions let us remember this:
Bobby never quits on the one's he loves.
Embrace those times when there was no one that he loved more than FSU; that there was nothing that he wouldn't sacrifice for FSU. He gave his time, he sacrificed for his family and he has given us many memories never to be forgotten.
It is those legacies that are hardest forgotten that are the hardest to let go.
Thank you Bobby Bowden for giving us so much to fight for.

Bobby never quits on the one’s he loves
Imagine the success we would have if he actually did
…he sacrificed for his family…
If you mean he sacraficed the health of our football program for the benefit of his family then I agree
"It boils down to one of two things: It's either the horses or the jockeys. And we think we have some pretty good horses."
Respect
Come on man. We all got what we wanted, now let’s pay our respect to one of the best coaches ever. I’m just ready to turn the page and look forward to a brighter future, while honoring a man who built up a program from nothing into a dominant team.
I'm not
And I am tired of hearing he built a program from nothing, that is FALSE
"It boils down to one of two things: It's either the horses or the jockeys. And we think we have some pretty good horses."
I guess I just don't see the point in piling on.
I’m with you that it was way past time for him to go, but now that he’s going, I don’t see why we need to continue to bash the man.
THE BEST Joe Pa didn't do it recruiting against UF UM and the rest of the nation invading his territory and he
didn’t win 2 titles and he didn’t have to play UF UM and other top 5 teams consistently Bowden was better hands down.
Yeah, right!
Thank you.
Joe Pa’s job was wayy easier than Bobby’s
Trus1te, That's a mighty brave post to put on this site
I love TomahawkNation but it’s not "Bowden Friendly’. Even his retirement will not soften things. Don’t get me wrong, I am delighted to see him go. I am furious about the past ten years. But, I am not angry or full of hate. For instance, I would hit my brakes if I saw Coach Bowden crossing the street. :-) – (Anne Bowden is another matter)
I do understand the deep seated animosity towards him, especially if you started attending FSU in 2000 or beyond. You don’t have the experience of participating in the years of excellence and instead have experienced only frustration. I’ve said it before. It’s like having a father build the family fortune from scratch and, inexplicably, try to destroy it. However, in Bowden’s case, I think it’s fair to say that even he, the architect of FSU Football’s prominence, can’t destroy it. He will leave a world class football stadium. If you never went to a game at the erector set stadium that was replaced, it’s hard to appreciate it. He leaves big money boosters who are capable of shelling out not only the money for a top shelf coach and facilities, but will pay for getting rid of past mistakes. Most importantly, he leaves behind an expectation that FSU will be mentioned in the same breath with USC, Texas, UF and Alabama. And we will be. We have a great new coach, we’re situated in a phenomenally rich recruiting ground and, as we saw this weekend, the ACC still sucks. We will be regulars in the Orange Bowl and beyond for years to come.
So, our frustration with Bowden is at an end. And Tomahawk Nation played a powerful role in bringing it about. This was the “Opposition Newspaper”. Whether or not you forgive him is your own business. I, however, will forgive him and move on. Keep in mind that his over-emphasized loyalty, stubbornness and selfish desire for personal glory got us here. We’ve survived the worst of it and brighter days are ahead.

I agree 100%
It is hard for me to see Bowden go for the reasons you stated, such as attending FSU before 2000 and witnessing erector-set stadium games (my first game against UF was in 1994, one of the greatest ever). He is responsible for getting us here and built a legacy that will likely never be duplicated. I wanted him to step down as much as anyone and I am happy we are moving on, but Gonzo, you are 100% correct in your assessment. We lived gloriously by that sword and died by it in the last 9 years. It’s time for a huge thank-you to Bowden and also time to move on.
That was pretty perfectly said.
And i think the best point out of that is that we wouldnt even be able to get a top notch coach if it wasn’t for him. He has brought tons of money and without it, Jimbo wouldnt be here.
Thank You Bobby Bowden for changing FSU, Southern Football, and College football as a whole.
Your legacy is in tact. There will most likely never be another this good.
Yeah, right!
