this is just a friendly reminder for my fellow TN readers.....the Under Armour All-American’s practice is on ESPNU today from 3pm until 6pm. This will be a chance to check out some of our recruits (including Lamarcus Joyner, and Jeff Luc) and prospects (Christian Jones, Kenny Shaw, Corey Lemonier). Also, Arizona is playing Nebraska in their bowl game tonight @ 8pm on ESPN. I personally am looking forward to observing Mark Stoops' defense in that one.

will be hard to judge his defense in this game
since Nebraska has no offense. If they score at all we should be worried…LOL
Just Kidding guys.
I'll just be looking at the basics.
What do their D Ends do when they’re left unblocked on the outside? Contain? Crash?
What do the guys on the backside do? Drift out of position or stay disciplined and wait for the reverse?
Do they tackle well? Do they take proper angles?
What type of blitz packages do they run?
What type of coverage do they use in the secondary?
What type of sideline demeanor does Stoops have?
Do they give up the big play?
I’m sure I could go on and on. I’ll be looking for the same stuff when ECU plays Arkansas on the 2nd.
So far this ESPNU coverage has been a bust
Are they gonna show actual practice or just quick player profiles?
Arizona defense looks terrible
One observation I’ve made is that they really like to keep their base front 7 in the game, even with 4 WR.
Overpowered & oversized
Plus their offense has done squat, which hurts b/c AZ doesn’t play many in the depth chart.
Yeah, what gives?
I’ve seen some good plays, and some good pass rush, but run stop has been shaky…
120+ in the 1st half? No good…
368 yards on 64 plays
Less than 6 yards per play and if you consider how long that D was on the field, I’d take that. There were definitely issues, however. I’m not saying it was a well played game by AZ’s defense.
Stoops did not care
Would you want to help your old “company” get better when you know you are going to a “competitor”? I know I would not put my best effot into it. He, like everyone, has his mind on Urban Meyer’s health (sarcastic).
I don't buy it.
If I’m playing a game and know I’m going to be switching teams after the game is done, I still do my best to win the game I’m playing. Maybe he was distracted by moving, finding a place to live & what not, but I don’t think he said F*** it, I’m outta here. He’s coaching with his brother, not some company. Even if it were a company, I’d still do my best until I left because I don’t know how to work any other way. If I were going to switch law firms, I wouldn’t say F*** my cases & clients right before I left because I still don’t like to lose. Stoops is a competitor. Although he might have put less time into preparations than he otherwise would have, due to moving plans and excitement about the new job, I’ll bet he still tried to prepare them to win.
AZ’s offense kept going 3-n-out. AZ lacks depth. In they end, they were overpowered and outsized by the Huskers similar to Nebraska’s 62-24 beat down of the Turds in the Fiesta Bowl.
hope you're right.
and I know what you mean about driven people doing their best to leave things in order on the last day of their job. I’m inhouse now, and I still try to do that when I leave.
