On the Gator Bowl...Jerry Kutz, Vice President of Seminole boosters, believes this could very well be THE hottest ticket of the Bowden Era – even more so than the national championship games.

Wish I had the cash to make the trip down there. As much as I’ve been frustrated with his leadership over the past several years, I’d still love to watch his swan song.

Who's not a Bowden supporter?

I wanted to see Bobby retire much sooner than this – for the good of the school, team and BB. Regardless, I’ll be there to say “Thanks for the memories.”

Taking my dad as a xmas gift

A good way to celebrate the past, present and most importantly the future of the program.. I never thought I’d be so excited about watching a 6-6 FSU football team.

Damn

I knew I should’ve bought a bunch of these and scalped ’em… :)

by FSUjab on Dec 7, 2009 3:56 PM EST reply actions

Take a chance...

It seemed pretty clear that WVU or FSU or both would be playing there as of last week. Living near a large number of WVU people here in VA I played the odds and bought some sweet tix on 40yd line and row W. It will be nice. I wanted to be there for the final game. I guess there are still vultures who want to circle the carcass.

I really screwed up

waiting to buy tickets. They doubled overnight.

or just facing the reality. At any rate, I do wish “us” luck in the future and I am sure that by September I will be ready to roll. I do apologize for my pissy comments last week. Emotion is something that is hard to control. Oh well… my opinion is not worth much anyway, but it is MINE and I have to deal with it. Happy Holidays folks. Maybe I shall see some of you in JAX. Just look for the half wolf & half bird or whatever that drawing was I got the other week. hahaha

The Gator Bowl website has been sold out since last night.

I bought mine the second it was officially announced. And people were telling me that wasn’t necessary and there would be plenty…pshhh.

by FloridaState on Dec 7, 2009 4:23 PM EST reply actions

Dang it

Also, I had 2 in my cart from the WV website, and put it off until this morning…STUPID..GONE.

by jasonole59 on Dec 7, 2009 4:26 PM EST reply actions

Still have opportunity to buy tickets.

What is the going rate out there right now?

by arrdub on Dec 7, 2009 4:33 PM EST reply actions

Check StubHub or somewhere like that

You’re going to get ripped off, though. The Gator Bowl is sold out and so is the WVU ticket office. I imagine that FSU allotment will be sold out before half the boosters get their chance to buy tickets.

by FloridaState on Dec 7, 2009 4:35 PM EST up reply actions

Someone told me

That of the 20K alloted to FSU there have been requests for 35k already. There might not be able tickets left for students…Glad I manned up and took the chance early. 7 tickets at 50ish is a hella better then trying to get 7 in th same section now..

I don't doubt it

My parents were up visiting me this weekend and we wanted to go to the bowl. They were going to be on the road headed back home when the bowl was announced, so my mom gave me her credit card # and told me to buy four for us and my brother the second it was official, so I did. I managed to get the 4 for $200 deal before it sold out. I’m glad we bought them early; I knew this would be huge.

by FloridaState on Dec 7, 2009 4:55 PM EST up reply actions

No, no, no...can still submit request through Boosters with high priority.

I may get fried for this… but I have to choose between friend’s wedding and game. Trying to figure out if I should go ahead and get tickets…. and sell if it turns out I can’t make it.

by arrdub on Dec 7, 2009 4:54 PM EST up reply actions

Didn't know that was odd...?

But I’ll take your word for it. Kinda makes some sense to me; overlapping celebrations of different sorts.

Back to original subject, still haven’t heard from any folks what they are paying for tix???

by arrdub on Dec 7, 2009 8:39 PM EST up reply actions

Yesterday

They were on stubhub for as low as $80. Now the cheapest are $115, and disappearing by the minute. I suspect you’ll be hard pressed to spend less than $150 by tomorrow this time

by DamonH on Dec 7, 2009 10:48 PM EST up reply actions

This will be my first Bowl Game...

We went online last night and requested 6 tix on the 50. They were saying that if theres a High Demand, which there will be. Then they would goto Priority. My G-Pa is a BIG money Booster. Gave 1 Million all at once so im really excited to be able to see Bowdens final game.

I dunno

Gator Bowl has Staduim, VIp, & Club seats See the seating chart here —> http://www.gatorbowl.com/images/gb_stadium.jpg
Lower deck on the 50ish would be in the “club” section.

We are going to formal black tie New Years Eve Party and are thinking of leaving and driving up after the party since we already have tickets.

If I show up wearing a tux, will Bobby be impressed? 1PM though, I don’t know.

This kind of sucks

But I guess it’s good to have Bowden’s last game at FSU in the Gator Bowl against WVU, where the streak started. I just hope for the same result.

(Just FYI, I was hoping for the Music City Bowl b/c Nashville is 30 mins away. I’m not going to be make the drive to Jacksonville b/c of mother f%$#ing work!!!)

Anyone have any clue if students get easier tickets for this?

I’m crossing my fingers, 600 bucks for the UF game beatdown drained my college fund pretty considerably.

by Njfoshizzy on Dec 7, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

Is anyone getting "THE PATCH"

I gotta be skeptical about something that’s only 10 bucks, but does anyone have any experience with this?

by DamonH on Dec 7, 2009 10:49 PM EST reply actions

The 2007 game against Alabama hit 85,412

with the added seating. So I should expect just a tick more for this game?

This will literally be 70,000 Noles and 15K Eer fans (an eer, wtf). Talk about home field advantage.

by tricknole on Dec 7, 2009 10:58 PM EST reply actions

A good chunk of them were let down about having to face a 6-6 team in their bowl

And you know the majority of the tickets are being bought by FSU fans. We were buying them through their athletic’s site.

by tricknole on Dec 8, 2009 12:35 AM EST up reply actions

Have you guys read the comments on some of their forums?

It seemed like 50% thought it was a joke they had to play us. The other 50% seemed glad to be in the Gator regardless. Very few thought playing FSU would be anything special.

Yes, I think it’ll be 75% Noles.

by tricknole on Dec 8, 2009 1:58 PM EST up reply actions

Hopefully the players will feel the same way

and have a let down. Although I think the noles get up for this game and smack ‘em. Then we’ll be seein’ more than Timmy in tears.

by NoleLaw on Dec 8, 2009 6:59 PM EST up reply actions

Gator bowl hasn't done the added seats for this game

so it will be in the 77K range.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to add the extra seats for the game. It’s not like they wouldn’t sell.

Ok thanks

8 Gator Bowls have exceeded the current 77K capacity (although a few of them were prior to the expansion). I definitely think it can break the Gator Bowl record of 82, 911.
