Within two hours of yesterday’s official team announcement that the West Virginia Mountaineers would face the Florida State Seminoles in the January 1, 2010 Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, the New Year’s Day Bowl game sold out in record time.
"The interest in this game has been overwhelming and has surpassed all expectations," said Daniel Kennedy Murphy, Gator Bowl Chairman.
And yet other ACC teams continue to complain. Non-Nat'l Championship bowl games are all about making money, and FSU sells the seats that BC, UNC, Miami, etc., would not.

Let them all bitch about it
I’ve got my tickets and I’m ready to go!!!
"He who becomes a beast rids the pain of being man"
maybe bobby should've announced his retirement before every home game
just kidding just kidding
"He who becomes a beast rids the pain of being man"
Actually
This is exactly why I thought a farewell tour would help attendance. It would’ve at least helped with season tickets. Of course if we would’ve kept losing those season ticket holders wouldn’t have showed to the games… But I don’t think we would be in danger of not being bowl eligible next year.
A bit off-topic
Are we experiencing the quiet before the storm? We’ve had a new commit or a new coach pretty much every day since BB retired. It seems that FSU news is very quiet now. Yesterday, there was a rumor that Barnes was going to USCe, but no news of that today. Some of the guys like Deas, seem pretty set that FSU is their next home. So I would expect some sort of news. Things are eerily silent in Tally.
I chose to stick my head in the sand and not believe it UNTIL something more solid comes out.
You’d at least think that a Cocks blog would have some mention of it, but I have yet to see any. Perhaps some of our rivals are starting to spread false rumors to get kids concerned.
Butts in the seats
Bottom line, and nothing sells seat like a legends last game in the home state. When Randy Shannon retires in 40 years Miami can have their turn.
What we do in life, echoes in eternity.
Clemson's also whining like a little girl
I don’t know why anyone is taking a nonBCS bowl so seriously. I don’t recall being near as upset last year as all these other schools seem to be.
Noles
I’m glad there is positive energy around the FSU football program.. there hasn’t been alot to be happy about lately…
hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard
Who cares what the other ACC schools think, we've got more important issues to focus on...
Rebuilding our football program to standards that are not set by these other schools.
