It seems as if everybody is up in arms wondering about who we are going to use at our WR positions and who will step up. At the end of the '08 season it didn't seem to be that big of a deal losing Carr and Surrency, but after Parker, and then Easterling, people seemed to start to get worried (including me).
But then I was thinking (and correct me if I'm wrong), weren't Bert Reed and Taiwan Easterling both inexperienced before the 2008 season? Weren't they RedShirt Freshmen? Both of them made incredible contributions on the field with no college experience.
I know these contributions are partly due because of the other experience players playing WR in '08 (i.e. Carr, Parker), but with the talent coming in this recruiting class it seems, in my opinion, that we should be just fine.
That doesn't mean that we won't have kinks to work out, and many players will HAVE to step up...but with our returning (awesome) o-line, returning quarterback (unless EJ takes his place), and Jermaine Thomas also returning at runningback, I can't help but think we will have a great running game next year. And that running game will help us set up the pass. Maybe I'm just an optimist.
I'd love to hear everybody's thoughts on this. And don't be afraid to be brutally honest with me. I don't claim to be a football expert.
