Can anyone remember the name of the Virginia player that knocked Chris Weinke out of the remainder of the 1998 season? I remember it being a severe neck injury, and the team briefly feared paralysis. It more than likely cost FSU the NC vs Tennessee that year, but I cannot remember who it was. I thought it was somebody who ended up playing in the NFL. Thanks for your help.

His name was Herndon. I will always remember that cheap shot. He was hurt bad himself in the NFL. Karma

I looked at the roster and there is no Herndon. Maybe it was the hern kern Kerney similarity.
