We have had endless debates over the years concerning whether or not state newspapers favor the University of Florida when it comes to reporting sporting events.
I ran across an article here I think should stand on it's own and end the debate. Whitley admits the truth but attributes it to the recent economic downturn and lack of funding at major newspapers. I have for years marveled at sporting headlines as the gators receive one third of a page and events at FSU receive a small paragraph.
Bianchi himself writes articles taking one shot after another at FSU and it's athletic program and most of them should be reserved for the cartoon pages. If this article is true and I think it is concerning papers facing dire economic times I can only laugh with glee at the prospects of Whitley and Bianchi lining up at the unemployment offices.
