Solomon Alabi, C, Fr., Florida State
Sources close to Alabi told me he is definitely returning for his sophomore season at Florida State. A potential top-10 pick in 2010, the big man has huge upside, which he showed flashes of during his freshman season. Many scouts believe Alabi has more upside than Hasheem Thabeet and is further along than Thabeet was after his freshman season.
Does this really surprise anyone? This was from Chad Ford's latest NBA draft assessment.

This is great news.
I have trouble gauging basketball prospects, so these comparisons of talent and progress are helpful.
I'm actually a little surprised that he would be top 10...
simply because of his injury, lack of press, and raw skill right now.
Not this year...in 2010...which if he continues to develop as quickly as he has, I wouldn't be surprised if he is a top 10 next year.
He has only played 3 complete seasons of organized basketball.
As a UConn fan
I would agree. We’ll see if he becomes that monster shot blocker that Thabeet was his junior and senior seasons though
