"There is no second-guessing about my decision of coming out," Brown said. "That made all the difference — being able to finish school. I didn't want to leave any unfinished business. When I made my decision, I was hundred percent. I didn't have any doubts and I won't."

Basically the article was touching on the point that most draftable prospects have a similar skill set in that they are solid in some areas and not in others (some prospects are just beasts and I could coach them). Outside factors, family, city they live in, coaches, etc, is what determines how good a player will be. Obviously a major factor is the team they are placed on. If they go to a team with an established coaching staff they are more likely to get the tutoring they need on fundamentals and brought in slowly rather than being put on the field right away and being expected to perform. This concept gets worse when coaches are hired/fired and different ideas are put in place (see Alex Smith: 4 different OC’s in 4 years I believe).
