The FSU men's 4x400 relay team broke a major barrier by clocking 2:59.99 in the final event of the NCAA meet. That time -- considered an elite time in the event -- was good enough to give the Seminoles a win in the final event of the meet.
But Texas A&M placed second in the race and won the overall team title in a crazy finish to the meet.
The Aggies finished with 48 points, two better than FSU, Florida and Oregon. Entering the relay, four teams still had a shot at claiming the team title with three of them having a relay team in the event.
FSU's women finished fourth overall with 40 points, 10 behind winner Texas A&M.
