First, I'd like to apologize.  As some of you know, we are working on an offensive line series.  I thought I could finish it last night, but I didn't get to include all of the material the first part needed, so it will begin tomorrow.  

As you probably know, the Arkansas swept Florida State baseball over the weekend in a rather depressing series as Steve Ellis writes, it was a Tough ending to over-achieving season for FSU | tallahassee.com | Tallahassee Democrat  Since going to the super regional format in 1999, FSU has made it to the CWS three times in 11 tries.  Pay attention to tomorrow night's baseball draft to see if our supposedly "excellent" recruiting class gets drafted or will actually play for the 'Noles.

Football

Another story on E.J. Manuel.  FSU backup QB Manuel takes advantage of summer workouts  "Physically, he's always been one of our best workers," Stroud said. "We have an exceptional quarterback bunch with (Christian) Ponder and E.J. Those two guys are gym rats in that they love to train, love to be in the weight room and they love to study football."He really seems like a promising kid.  Let's hope he keeps working hard.  Competition at any position is beneficial.

Chuck Landon: NCAA rules to blame for recruiting problems - The Herald Dispatch  I clipped this story because it emphasizes the importance of scouting recruits backgrounds.  Coaches are limited to such little contact with recruits nowadays, they have absolutely no chance to actually get to know a recruit. As one college coach remarked, "We get to know the people around the recruit better than we do him." Are those people going to reveal anything negative about the prospective recruit? Of course not.  If you know a recruit is a bad apple, let us know.  We will pass it along to the coaches.
