Cristian Jones Interview on Tharinger
Does this mean FSU is no longer a leader for Jones?
"Florida, Oklahoma, and Southern Cal are starting to stick out." Jones offered. "At Florida, they’ve played well the past few years winning national championships so that’s attracting and at USC, they always have players coming in and getting drafted."
"I WAS a fan of Florida State," Jones said. "I have family down there and that’s the team I grew up watching."

Really What makes you beleive that?
I hope you are right but he doesn’l list FSU in his leaders and then he says “I WAS a fan of Florida State”
I hope you know something I don’t
He said those schools were starting to emerge.
I took that to mean that FSU had always been there.

I think the odds of Jones going somewhere else are slim
He even said himself “I’m tired of people saying that UF is the best team in Florida”.
You're reading too much into the WAS.
I was a fan of Florida State growing up as well. I’m still a fan of Florida State, but I could’ve used WAS and still been a fan today. When applying for colleges, it’s always important to keep an open mind. I’m sure you flirted with multiple schools, and weren’t set on Florida State from the beginning (assuming you went there?). Also, sometimes being a fan isn’t enough. Judging from it, he’s still got Florida State on top, but he’s keeping an open mind to other top programs.
Just wants to beat the Gators
I hear you but
In reading his quote in its entirety and combined with the fact that FSU was not included in the following statement he made
“Florida, Oklahoma, and Southern Cal are starting to stick out.”
had me thinking FSU is not in his leaders, is there any other way to interpret this objectively????
Well I would consider the history and other factors
With both his dad and older brother playing at FSU. I know they don’t make the decision for him, but he’s been a lock for a long time and admitted that he just wants to enjoy the experience. If he makes a strong commitment some of the top programs may back off. He’s only going to go through this process once and I think he just wants the most out of it. But he also said that if some of the other top recruits like Christian Green and Lamarcus Joyner commit, he’ll probably just go ahead and get it over with. I definitely understand why you’re nervous, its usually the “locks” that make me anxious too. But I have a gut feeling we’re safe.
I see what your saying, but I viewed that as him narrowing down his list to 4 or 5 including FSU who probably always stood out. I have faith that he won’t turn into another Brice Butler.
