Marcus Sims Transfering to North Alabama
I'm not sure if this is old news or not but it is official, Marcus Sims will be transfering to North Alabama long with Preston Parker. It is doubtful Sedrick Holloway will get any playing time if he is still part of the team, as he has not be participating in the summer conditioning program. With two fullbacks down I am wondering what our options will be. Possibly Matt Dunham, if he is in football shape. What does everyone think about this?

Good luck Marcus...
I’ll always wonder what kind of LB you would have been.
What an ego on the kid. LB was probably his true position.
Anyway, don’t fumble your transcripts into a pile of mud or anything.

Bye-bye Marcus
Hello Scholarship. Thank you! Best thing you have ever contributed to the Noles.
I hope they treat you like the pre-madonna you think you deserve to be treated like at North Alabama. Good luck!

They can copy our warchant. Add an extra note, and call it theirs.
You know, Vanilla Ice style.

Stop that train
I wanna get off…..word to your mother.
No, no, no...it's totally different.
Their’s is, “ding, ding, ding, da da, ding, ding”
Mine is “ding, ding, ding, da da, DING, ding”
He's a stand-up guy, though.
You ever seen a tattoo somebody did on themselves? I hope he did this one at :41 of the video. I can sketch Florida better with my left hand.

no but I saw Steve-O get a happy face while in a dune buggy in AZ going 75MPH
That was cool. Cant leank stuff at work.

Does FSU run many formations
with a fullback anyway. I thought most of Jimbo’s scheme was with one tailback, but I could be wrong. If he does use a fullback, we could be in trouble.
thats what I think I would love to see 2 RB back there for that or maybe Reed.
Reed would not play all the time but maybe a play or 2 he can throw and is great in open field.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
Jimbo is phasing out the fullback anyway
This is a good thing for Parker and Sims. They will get all the playing time they want there.
We need the extra scholarship anyway.
Well this is a good thing I think we should use the FB spot for an extra RB or WR anyhow.
Ive been saying thing for a while now. when we run split backs run 2 RB. the RB cant block as well as a FB but they might not have to if the o-line does its job. We should be able to run more play-action and then screens and flairs to the flats. We still run some I formation so we will need a FB but hell Budd could do that sence hes to small to play on the D-line. Just dont let him get the ball (blocking only)

Wasn't Sims
going to get the ball some as a change of pace or more likely a situational runner?
I thought against certain defenses he’d be expected to be the choice for 3rd and short and goal line.

Luckily we don't have that option now, thanks to Sims
Lets just focus on converting on 1st and 2nd so we can play action into the end-zone all we want this year :)

Yeah some but we don't neeed a malcontent.
It opens up a schollie for someone who could be around when we’re in position to win a national championship.
you make it sound like we might be shooting for it with in the next 3-4 years.
Are you hinting at that FSUn.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
I guess it would but 2 things have to happen
Jimbo needs to be incharge and The new DC has to be someone that can get the job done. I think If the first happens the second will follow suit.

QB is really important IMO for a NC year.
When was the last time a team won a NC, or even played in a NC without a great QB?
" And He drank the world's sin so He could carry you in, and give you life"
Maybe they will line up with both Caz and Beau Reliford, one behind the line and the other as TE,
and some of the other times go with a 2 TE set. I think Dunham will come around and contribute, and it may be a good thing to have a man around the boys.

How would and ace shotgun look for FSU
2 WR, 2TE, 1RB and the qb in shotgun. I know the reason shotgun is so good is because it gives the Qb more room to see the field and also some more time. We could run all the same plays as a 2TE look and the zone read can still be ran. There are some fun things you can do with those formations. Just an idea.

Anyone else see Willie Downs at NAB?
(sigh)
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three.
Elayne Boosler
Whatever.
In other news, its good to see Pat Carter’s name coaching up at UNA… was always one of my favorites. Great tight end.
Yep, I thought the same thing.
I used to work with another great tight end in the early 90’s— Dave Roberts, when he first got out of law school. I can’t remember which of ’em punished Auburn in ’89.

Who to replace our FB's????
Id’e like to see Jermaine Thomas in RB and then instead of a FB it would be nice to see Tavares Pressley back there. Dudes big, fast and can block.

I was reading something saying he could step in there
I think it was noleinsider but HD wrote it. Thats the only thing Im not cool with. So it was prob wrong.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
I like that attitude.
Thats the only thing Im not cool with. So it was prob wrong.
" And He drank the world's sin so He could carry you in, and give you life"
Pressley is too good of a RB for that IMO
it would basically be a waste of his talent
Tavaris is bigger than JT and Ty
But he’s not a fullback, by any stretch of the imagination. No amount of Guthrie’s boxes will change that reality.
Who to replace our FB's
Mickey said he and Jimbo had been talking maybe we get someone off of D to play FB
by Nole_Fan_Til_I_Die on Jul 16, 2009 4:37 PM EDT reply actions
wasnt that the prob with Sims.
He was a LB that moved to FB now we going to do it again so that when we have a chance to win a game we shouldnt be close in we can blow it at the 3yr line because we have a Def player with the ball instead of a playmaker. Im not down with that. I was joking when I said put Budd back there.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
i was thinking
Budd Thacker. Hopefully he won’t be needed on the line, and he’s got the attitude for it.
He's good at getting to the second level.
But that’s when he’s lining up on D. He’ll just have to end up in the exact same area of the field, but while on offense.
True
So we just need to teach him to block the linebackers with his front to them, instead of his back to them.
Should be no problem.
ROFL... if worse comes to worse, he can use his flop move for blocking.
Just wants to beat the Gators
Too funny....and mean.
Kendall Smith should complain to Mickey that Bud should be equipped with a device that beeps when he’s backing up, like a city garbage truck.
Seriously?
If it goes off every play, would it really be of any great benefit?
LOVE the idea though.
Speed Kills!
Whoever they put back there needs to be FAST!!! Today’s game is so fast that we need speed, and hands. I like Pressley because that would give us so many more options. if you can make a Defense stop and think for a split second, with speed they get burned. With a BIG FB the defense can recover and make a play. speed speed speed.

Has anyone else noticed all the talent North Alabama is getting via transfer? Brandon Fanney is there from ‘Bama, Sims, Preston Parker, and there are a few more I’m forgetting.
Obviously, the FSU guys are going there because of their connection with the Bowde family (Terry is HC, and Jeff is WR coach.)
I can see Ma and CTC going there next year too.
Sad to say but I see it happeneing.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
I think we should ahve put the game in ponders hands.
Let him run around or throw it. Im glad we lost the game kinda. I aways want to win but I want BB to see hes going to lose and hes not going to make it to 400.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
I don't think so. Thomas asked out. It's right on tape.
Antone was hurt, Ty Jones was nowhere ready with the diabetes, and Thomas asked out. He puts his hand up and asks for a blow. He was gassed.
Sims carried the ball well for us last year for the most part though he did have a tough time holding onto it. Caught it well too.
but thats what you should expect from a LB
Its just as bad as MA putting a true SS out as a CB. Its just not the same. I thought Sims was ok for us because we needed a big body for blocking. Thats all I could care for though. If We need a FB to carry the ball we need to recruit a FB to carry the ball. We dont need a FB like GT does. We need one to pound it 2-4 yards at most and to block thats what FSU uses a FB for. Maybe releace to run to the flats but I dont even think we need one for that.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
Wow...
North Alabama is racking up…We just had a guy transfer there too…
