Sentinel: Freshman Aubrey Phillips 55lbs+ overweight; quits team for good.
The coaches instructed him to go from 320lbs to 295 lbs (in a 5 month period) by the time he showed up for camp. Instead, he showed up at 350lbs and could not keep up in summer workouts.

its prob better for him.
Once Trickett got ahold of him Game over man Game over. I hope the best for him but would have been nice to have his size on the line. Well guess we have another Scolly open. Would they give it to a SR or is it to late to pick someone else up form a Jr college.
Why is the sky blue? Because, God Loves the Infantry
I agree is better he left now
He wouldnt have lasted at that weight in our system.
So as of now Sims, Holloway and Phillips are casualties. Am I missing somebody?
Dvo but that was a while ago.
I know we wanted to clean up the team and get ride of some players to make room for scollys. how many more do we need to get ride off or have quite. we only lost 2 from the recruits.

What happened to Wright?
Our LB corp is not nearly as deep as many tout….especially if we lose Wright. He isn’t all world, but he has experience.
That would hurt...
I have seen pics of him in practice, so that surprises me.
That would leave FSU with the following bodies that can ‘play’.
Bradham
Watson
Smith
Williams (he is injured)
Carr
Alexander (not sold on him, but he looked OK in the spring)
Harris (is he still on the team? Can he play at this level?)
Gresham (ACL injury. I like this kid, but I am not sure he will make it).
By my count we have maybe 5-6 that can play. You need 9, because LB is so critical for special teams. Looks like another Amato special. We might be moving a DT back to LB before you know it.
You sure it isn't....
Vince Williams that is out for medical and not Ricardo Wright?
Hopefully...
…he can get his weight down and get back on the field in another program or at least for health reasons. I’ve noticed a lot of reports over the past decade about the shortened lifespan of football linemen. High rates of diabetes, sleep apnea, et cetera. I know it’s great to have that big line for the game but these guys need to be trained how to change their lifestyle after football. I do like the zone blocking schemes that generally keep the weights of linemen under 300 lbs (although I still cringe a little at the cut block techniques in regards to knee injuries)…

Aubrey takes a parting shot
He is not going to work out at Auburn either. Chizik is no scout den master himself. He is the second four star 350 pounder Trickett has sent down the road. See Chis Little. He ended up leaving UGA for small college also.
