Florida State Seminoles Animated Drive Chart
You can make your own call from these. What I see is a team that moved the ball some (though not to the level they should against this opponent) and couldn't hold on to it. I also see a special teams unit that gave Jacksonville State two extra drives (muffed punt, and roughing the punter). Most of all, it was a team that clearly didn't prepare for the game.

Where can you find injury reports?
Wasn’t there a DE that got hurt in the game? I thought it was 95 Kevin McNeil though my memory is not that good lately.
How about that lick Bradham got on Perriloux?
I only saw the last two minutes of the game on ESPN360, but that made my night. That, and the fumble return by McNeil. Way to run up the score at the end guys and make it look a little more respectable… :)
I’m really interested in seeing how well (or bad) UM plays against GT Thursday night. I’m beginning to think that my worst fears are being realized – that FSU & UM still suck and it’s just that the defenses suck worse than the offenses now.
So what you're saying is if you watched the entire game
we would’ve had the blowout that most expected. :)
I'm curious too about what this means for the Canes
I was on the fence about this after the UM game. But after the JSU game i’m starting to feel the same way. We made the Canes look like they’re back. When the reality is our fates are tied together and they suck maybe just a little bit less than we do.

Only slightly more calm than when I left my comment on the last article.
Which by the way was a very nice write up. I admit I was freaking out, but was glad to see something about a let down Saturday. FSU was clearly not the only team to under perform.
The offense produced. Ponder produced. Without the mistakes (many, many mistakes) Ponder’s production should have at least led to what? 4 or 5 Td’s? At least 2 more TD’s and a couple of field goals. That would still have been under performing to me but obviously much better.
If Ponder plays like he did Saturday and the mistakes are at least limited to a minimum, FSU will have a shot at BYU (hey…it’s a far cry from saying this team will get destroyed as I said in anger earlier…at around 4 am). Oh and the running game has to be there too. If only to limit the amount of time Hall has the ball.
FSUjab-That hit was outstanding. I said it earlier. All his (and the fans) frustrations focused into one hit, right in Perrilloux’s chest. Awesome.
Very cool visualization. Thanks!

The real question ... the run
Where in the world is the run?
The O-line’s protection has stepped up a notch … but has apparently regressed in leaps and bounds with the running game (unless the key to our success in the running came last year had more to do with the unaccounted for QB and our willingness to run him last year). As Porter has become more and more valuable to the team’s success, the willingness to run him has obviously decreased (as it should) and has therefore made it much easier on the defense to respond to our running game.
When things have been desperate and we have gone to the designed QB draw (such as the last Miami drive), it has been successful.
Why was JSU able to hang with us?
How could a Division I-AA team take us to the wire? The simple answer is execution. Those guys were prepared, they had a solid gameplan and they ran it well.
We, on the other hand, was unmotivated, unprepared, & uninspired. We experienced a classic case of overconfidence where we believed the other “lesser” team would come into Doak and tremble in their cleats in the presence of the mighty Seminoles. Obviously that was not the case.
I think the lesson learned here is we’re are going to be in a dogfight every single game. There are no guaranteed wins on the schedule. Further, to have a fighting chance against anybody we’re going to need almost flawless execution of our gameplan.

The beginning of the second paragraph should read....
We, on the other hand, WERE unmotivated, unprepared, & uninspired.
(I’m OCD about that kinda stuff. )
