Todd McShay = CLOWN
"A Florida State program is going to go and be outclassed by better athletes, better playmakers, from that BYU program. I think that man-to-man coverage has been a problem of Florida State's for years now. They don't have the personnel to do it. This is not the 1980's. And I think that max Hall with all those weapons; Dennis Pitta, Mckay Jacobsen, Harvey Unga, all the way down, I think that they are going to exploit this defense."
I know there are some people that appreciated someone calling out MA , but I for one was really offended by it, mostly because of how confidently he said it and "outclassed"? Come on, since when did BYU start signing athleates in a higher class?
In regards to simple man scheme vs a more sophistocated zone scheme (that our players might not understand as well and would no doubt cut down on their ability to play aggressively) someone mentioned it earlier this week, a zone would probably have allowed max hall to pick us apart. I realize it wasn't a great defensive performance and I wasn't charting the defensive play calling, but for someone who was, doesn't it seem like man coverage was the way to go for this week especially?
And for my primary reason for posting, can anyone make my week and report on any sightings of Todd McShay (or any other ESPN personalities) eating his share of crow pie? Or maybe post the Game Day final segment on FSU's 'shocking win'.

I don't think he has much crow to eat
They carved up our D — we were only bailed out by turnovers — one of which was flagrant pass interference on G. Reid. They turned it over 5 times and still had 28 points. The only reason it wasn’t worse is that our offense did such a great job with Time of Poss.

Well someone should atleast tell Toddy that in football you play defense and OFFENSE. Also, 5 turnovers… a defensive TD every week, if that D scores again this week I think you have to admit that some of that is by design and/ or we have some playmakers, and not all luck.

Right there with ya...
I intentionally stayed extra late just to see if anyone would say they were wrong about BYU…not one single comment was made! I was a little hurt that Corso took BYU by three scores! Herbstreit tried to save face a little saying if this FSU team shows up there arent any teams that can play with them! All we can do is hope our squad shows up every week, quieting the critics!!
BYU rolled
up 357 yards against OU, I wonder how many yards they had had on us before junk time set in? Getting burned on some big plays is scary, but am I wrong to think that turnovers occurred as a result our defense wearing down and rattling the BYU offense? The best is yet to come this season and our D will continue to improve…..maybe not a NC D this year, but some big playmakers are appearing.
This is where you get into trouble with expectations
We played well (I use “well” lightly) against BYU because we matched up very well with them. We still haven’t played a team that will make us defend 11 guys (J-ville state doesn’t count). That’s when you’ll see the struggles against the spread option teams that have absolutely killed us in the recent past. We may improve in our own schemes, but these schemes will not be able to defend the type of teams they have failed against over the past few years.
Swagger, Intensity, Execution
BYU is similar to us in that respect...
We exploited their weakness with our mobile QB..Someone else could do the same to us.
adding to the list
shameless homer, lou holtz, and all-round douche, mark may both pick us as 3(ish) TD dogs and said we have ‘no chance’ to win the game. after the game it was something about BYU not showing up for the game…

I didn't hear any comments about BYU not showing up.
I heard comments like FSU “obliterated” “routs”…etc…
Other people who don't have a clue
Ted Miller, Pac-10 blogger for ESPN – doesn’t rank the Noles in the top 25 and behind BYU and GT.
Mark Schlabach, ESPN.com college sports writer – ranks the Noles at 25, 4 spots behind BYU.
Israel Gutierrez, AP poll voter/ writer for Miami Herald – doesn’t rank the Noles in the top 25, behind BYU and GT.

Jacory Harris is a Heisman contender???
according to Todd McShay, on 9/23, Harris shows better touch on his throws than any college football QB, including Tebow and McCoy?
two games against very average defenses with coverages blown left and right, and jacory is a hero…
It'll die down some
His line has been inpenetrable against FSU and GT. He has done a great job with what he has been given thus far though.
I want to see him throw some balls to not wide open receviers however, because even on a few throws against GT he involved the safety a little too much, but thats splitting hairs some.
