3 FSU Players Successful in Senior Bowl
Here are the defensive stats for our 3 Senior Bowl participants.
Patrick Robinson-2nd leading tackler with 3 solo, 3 ast, 6 total tckls, 1 pass broken up.
Dekoda Watson -tied for 5th leading tackler with 2 solo, 1ast, 3 total tckls
Myron Rolle-tied for 5th leading tackler with 1 solo, 2 ast, 3 total tckls, and 0.5 TFL
Myron had a good Senior Bowl game making a couple of nice goal line stops for the South team.
"I felt like I did well. I had a lot to prove this week," Rolle said. "I had to be the one going out to make plays and show the athleticism I had before I left for Oxford, and I think I did that.
"I don't think this week could have gone any better. The scouts who talked to me, they were all very impressed. They thought I was a better player now than I was at Florida State."
Cornerback Patrick Robinson, who played at FSU last season, had one of the better days defensively, racking up six tackles and one pass breakup. He was also down momentarily in the endzone on a play where he dislocated the ring finger on his left hand, but he would return to the game.
Rolle is projected as a second/third round selection in April's NFL Draft while Robinson, considered the No. 2 cornerback available, could sneak into the late first round.

They thought i was a better player now than i was a florida state
Hmmm a knock on our player development? im sure myron didnt study football at oxford
I focused on that comment too.
It coud be that, and it could also be a comparison of how our defense looked without him last year. Perspective can be a powerful thing.
I was waiting for the first person to notice that. One year off and after a week of coaching from the Dolphin coaches, he is already a better player. Amazing.

it just upsets me that we continually recruited top defensive talent
only to watch it be squandered. I remember watching myron and thinking that he wasnt living up to his recruitment hype. Heck it used to happen on the offensive side of the ball. Could you imagine what we could have done with anquan bolden? I guess the positive is that we now have coaches on BOTH sides of the ball who will are committed to player development. But i just cant help thinking “what if”
It was not just Rolle
All three performed at their best or better than they ever played for us. Coaching and Scheme matter!

I'd like to see an actual scout or NFL coach say that.
I have a very hard time believing his comment.
Rolle to Philly...
Please football god’s, I ask for so little (Well except for a Super Bowl, a career ending injury for McNabb, Andy Reid’s stroke, and of course that the banned Gay dating site Super Bowl ad was actually the Tim Tebow ad… but other than that)…
Philly needs a smart, talented leader in it’s secondary. He would make an instant impact.
too many teams need safety talent....
Philly is only one….Pittsburgh might look due to Polamalu injury, the Colts, Bucs, Raiders, and Cardinals are others….I think he ends up with a winning team (Philly, Pitt) as opposed to a crap team (Bucs, Raiders)
Too bad the Dolphins wont draft him..

Baltimore too...
If Ed Reed retires I could see them looking to get another solid player for their secondary. A couple years in that system, and I bet Rolle could be a monster in the NFL
Jacksonville..
Jacksonville needs him bad, and get rid of that sorry gator playing there now. Plus he would fit J ville system. Good run stopper, good tackler, and the smarts to be in position.
Ultimately
Rolle’s actions and presence this week is a great counter to that ESPN OTL report and the publicity around the probation/games forfeited.
More this week heard about Rolle and the Rhodes Scholarship, and how the FSU football staff supported him – to the point of letting him miss game prep and half a game (which could have been a whole game when they gave permission) than ever saw or read about that OTL report.

Did you meet the minimum requirements?
Fan posts are supposed to be more than one hundred words (maybe it is 200) and not just be a link to another article, but more like an essay. Certainly not just comment on a link to somewhere.

No mention of Dekoda? He caused a fumble, made two goal line stops, was in the backfield on all pressure packages. His sideline to sideline speed also ran down several backs and receivers.
From the parts of the game I watched, Dekoda did indeed play well. But Rolle was one of the headline stories, other than The Chosen One.

The Chosen One (and his Super Bowl ad)
were mentioned by a priest here in Philly in his blog. I was like, man, I can’t get away from this guy! It just blows my mind. Also, priest thought that he was a model Christian athlete.
2010 ~ The Year of the Spear
Dekoda will be late 3rd.....
he played well yesterday, showed lots of closing speed. The right scheme for him (I guess the Bucs is exhibit A) will improve his chances. Would love to see him do well, he has been a good player and citizen….

And there are still people that say
we owed Bobby Bowden and his coaching staff another year of mediocrity and under-achievement…….
Imagine Jody Allen coaching Lemonier

I wish Bobby would've agreed to have a farewell tour and to allow Fisher to make all the hires he currently made.
Aside from Craig. We could’ve hired him next offseason to replace Bowden’s “spot”. I’m assuming that would’ve curtailed most of his public bitterness. I don’t care that he’s bitter. I care that he’s making it so public.
Disagree
I’ll take the loss of Christian Jones (if it came to that, really doubt it will) to be rid of the enigma that was Bobby Bowden heading up our program. I don’t even care what capacity he would have had. The farther away he is from FSU’s sidelines, the better.
>>---l>
That's fine.
I wanted him gone by 2011 and I wanted him to have zero control in 2010, at minimum. I am not disappointed he’s gone. I wish he wasn’t such a selfish old man.
Everytime I watch Rolle interviewed...
I swell with pride. FSU could not have a better representative for our school and football program. Even on PTI, the guy was saying “yes sir” and “Mr. Wilbon.” Total class act. I hope he has a great career in the NFL.

Indeed
I wish all our ex-players well – sometime’s we’re too hard on them based upon what they have and have not done while in G&G but we forget that they’re just people who have given countless hours of their lives to entertain us (Ok so for most of us on this site obsess over is probably more appropriate than entertain).
No matter of Sunday’s are their future, gl to them!
