I don't know what CFL teams pay their head coaches -- but it would seem Trestman would be the choice if affordable. Trestman would be a downgrade from Shannon, is 55 years old, and was fired as NC State's offensive coordinator. Golden is probably going to hold out to see what Penn State does in succeeding Paterno, but he would be a considerable upgrade. Not sure Edsall would excite the fan base but he is probably an upgrade from Randy.
