Baltimore Sun: Friedgen "Won't Coach Team" in 2011
Forget that Ralph Friedgen won ACC Coach of the Year this year. Even that didn't save him from getting canned. OC James Franklin's leaving to coach Vandy, rather than the Terps' record in 2010, was ultimately the final nail in the coffin. Maryland had no future with Friedgen planning to leave after 2011. Now with the succession plan they thought they had in ruins, AD Kevin Anderson decided to pull the trigger.

I know Orangebloods is saying that
But consider the source-Orangebloods also said Texas would go to the PAC-10.
The Baltimore Sun is saying Leach hasn’t even been contacted yet, as per his agent.

Apparently Leach is already recruiting
Or at least calling players and talking about the Maryland job. This is the Serra QB in question, but one has to wonder why the hell Leach would call this kid of all people.
I imagine that it if is not going to be Mike Leach, they wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to shove Friedgen off the plank, as it were.
"It means so much to me. Just beating those guys. (Florida) They were recruiting me so heavy. I remember when I didn’t go there, they said, ‘You will never beat us.' For me to do it, it just shows them that they were wrong, you know?" -FSU LB #13 Nigel Bradham
That's all unconfirmed rumor at this point. Neither Leach nor his agent is saying anything either way.
Further, as of 30 minutes ago, Friedgen hasn’t even agreed to retire yet.
Leach does a have a good relationship with Under Armor founder Kevin Plank, so that may be his ticket in, but I repeat-nothing has happened yet.

I heard John Gruden was the leading candidate
The deals all but done and will be made public later this week.
