Welcome to the recruiting discussion thread. Please refer to the Recruiting Board for information on prospects. We are asking readers comment here instead of the recruiting board so that the recruiting board will load quicker. Feel free to talk recruiting news, rumor, information, etc. Amateurs and experts are all welcome. No question is too simple. Have a projected class? That's fine as well.
Once this thread fills up, we will start a new one.

1. What's up with Tony Steward?
This is a Clemson-FSU battle. Clemson is in desperate need of linebackers because its current crop lacks both quality and numbers. Plus, Steward's idol is Ernie Sims, who was coached by Clemson LB coach Kevin Steele. Despite this, we are confident in FSU's position with him. While we are mindful that Clemson can promise him an immediate starting job playing for Ernie Sims' former coach while FSU cannot (FSU is loaded with linebacker talent), we think FSU is in good position at the present time and that FSU's position will only improve from here. Tony Steward now requires ACL surgery.
2. How many recruits does Florida State take in its 2011 recruiting class?
Bud Elliot believes that the numbers should reach 26-30. Don't expect Florida State to oversign weak talent, e.g. the 2010 Miami recruiting class. Florida State does not need to reach 26, but it's fairly certain that Florida State won't deny high talent that wants to commit.
3. Any new news on Tim Jernigan?
The door seems to have slightly cracked open. It is believe that Tim has been hurt by the fact that the Gators have had such a poor season. He saw Florida State whoop Florida live, not to mention the other four losses the Gators have suffered this year. Also with the recent loss of Florida DL coach Dan McCarney, Tim Jernigan is no longer the lock to Florida as once thought. Still, Florida has the lead here. We'll update as this goes along.
4. Where is Kelvin Benjamin headed?
This is a UF-FSU battle like Tim Jernigan. Unlike Tim though, it seems as though the long time Gator lean is now a Nole lean. He had a great, extended visit over Thanksgiving break. Kelvin spent time with former High School teammate Greg Dent. No word yet on when or where he will commit, but Florida State should be the driver seat after the win vs. the Gators.
5. Is Jadaveon Clowney considering FSU?
No. He is taking a visit and it is an honor for FSU to host the best recruit in years, but nobody we trust believes FSU is seriously in the picture.
6. Which recruits have qualifying issues?
It was initially thought that Arrington Jenkins and Devonta Freeman (now an EE) would not qualify, but they should be in if they maintain their current academic pace.
7. Is Ha-Sean Clinton-Dix now in play?
Clinton-Dix (or sometimes known as HaHa) is in play for the Noles for the first time originally committing to Alabama in Spring. Two of his best friends in the recruiting class are 2011 Noles Nick Waisome and Karlos Williams. Nick Waisome, especially. Clinton-Dix's teammate Dee Hart is an added variable to this. Dee Hart is committed to Michigan, but is looking around. Alabama may be interested in locking him up to keep HCD committed. Only time will tell.
