The Burden of Being Myron Rolle
Spend a week in the life of this future Neurosurgeon and possible NFL first-rounder, who every FSU student, alumni, and fan should be proud to say, "MYRON ROLLE IS A SEMINOLE."
Outside the lines is doing a story on Myron Rolle this Sunday at 9 a.m. Attached is a side of Myron most haven't seen.

one of the most insightful stories I’ve read on Myron, what a guy! Good luck at the combine!

Wow! Very well done!
Love the part about Coach Andrews.
I never really thought about all the pressure he must feel on a daily basis.
I mean, to have civil rights leaders bow to him and call him “The Future of Black America.” Nope. No pressure there at all.
True or not in his own mind, it may very well be true in a factual context. PARTICULARLY if he does well in the NFL. Simply by his academic/athletic success alone, he would shatter the stereotype that successful athletes can’t be academics. Race nonwithstanding. But that Black America comment…
It would be crushing to see him fail. At anything.

nole4ever, I hope you don't mind that I did some editing and moved this to the front page.

Positively stunning article...
…the best part about the Rolle v. Tebow thing is that he (and his coach, unfortunately) doesn’t go through all of the attention seeking hyperbole that the Pope and St. Timmay regularly participate in.
By the same token, the media (especially hack sportswriters) haven’ t given FSU enough credit for producing people like Myron Rolle, Garrett Johnson, Joe O’Shea, and Caroline Alexander; instead they still love to harp on any negatives when it comes to our University. I think the University should throw Rolle and Johnson’s names out there everytime someone sings the praises of St. Timmay and his degree in Basketweaving.
In as much as I LOVE bashing the Gators
and their alum, they don’t deserve to be in the same conversation as Myron. The fact that a kid of this caliber picked FSU “says” more about FSU than anyone’s ill-informed, ignorant notion.
We know it … and apparently ESPN’s OTL is learning it.

Myron...
You’ve done some great things, for which I, too, salute you.
But remember to take a vacation once in a while. You deserve it. Don’t feel like you have to carry the world 24/7…

Yeah, really
I never gave it much thought until I read this piece. Other articles made it sound as though Myron wasn’t really feeling any pressure. This went much deeper and hopefully made people aware of how much stress they’re heaping on this young man.
Exposure
You cannot buy this type of exposure. No amount of marketing in the world will generate the type or amount of attention that Myron Rolle has and will continue to bring to FSU. The great thing is that is has substance and staying power. It is real, not manufactured.
