Woo hoo! Anyhow, weird stuff at Hialeah high ….

by mantanga on Feb 3, 2010 12:57 PM EST reply actions

Let's start fresh in the new hour

I don’t want a Hialeah highjack in this thread. Its the past, and we’ve still got a redonkulous class

Exactly! We have so much more than we would have had with Bowden & Co.

Not to mention that we have so much more than I ever expected! FrankD said it best, if you thought we were going to have a top ten class when Bowden first left, yer lying!

And add a sleeper or 2.

Green & Tank are left

According to the previous post noon to 1pm.

Go Noles!!

by AbeFroman21 on Feb 3, 2010 12:57 PM EST reply actions

We have a lot of good DE prospects next year

No need for any Eliot bashing. The guy has been a coach here for what, 3 weeks?

And in those 3 weeks we went from not even in Ego’s picture to a finalist.

With Lemonier we went from one of my to top two.

Speak softly, and carry a big Spear

by tdchrisdavis on Feb 3, 2010 1:00 PM EST up reply actions

Not bashing at all.

I am just saying the man better bring in a stud class next year and prove he can develop DEs or he’s toast.

by Legal_Seminole on Feb 3, 2010 1:01 PM EST up reply actions

We have Green left, and that seems like about it (assuming Dorsey is in)

Any potential surprise gets out there?

After watching the announcements

I’ll take Werner and his genuine enthusiasm over Smith and Lemonier any day.

by SeminoleSkins87 on Feb 3, 2010 12:58 PM EST reply actions

Let's not kid ourselves

we’d love to have Lemonier. In two years he’ll be nasty. At least we won’t have to play against him.

by NCAROLINANOLE on Feb 3, 2010 1:00 PM EST up reply actions

Lemonier's talent is one thing

And at least he didn’t make a joke decision like Smith. But I don’t like whatever he was alluding to about being lied to with FSU vs Auburn, and Werner’s a decent player in his own right with a lot of excitement to come to FSU.

by SeminoleSkins87 on Feb 3, 2010 1:02 PM EST up reply actions

valid points

with the 100 post per minute popping up here, i’d already forgotten about him talking about FSU lying to him.

by NCAROLINANOLE on Feb 3, 2010 1:03 PM EST up reply actions

Again, I didn't hear it that way

Didn’t he just say that he had to figure out who was lying to him during the process? Since FSU and Auburn were his finalists, maybe that means that he thought that those were the two schools that weren’t lying to him.

Hope I don’t get banned for posting the same thing twice.

by csfuu on Feb 3, 2010 1:04 PM EST up reply actions   1 recs

ding ding ding

He did not say FSU lied to him. They made it to the final two. He said in an interview several months ago he had a great relationship with the Auburn coaches.

I'm wondering if there are any recruits that we might steal

or if we are just waiting on Green and Dorsey at this point and thats it.

by Buc Wild on Feb 3, 2010 1:02 PM EST reply actions

When did Lemonier say FSU "lied" to him?

He said it was hard to know who was lying and who was telling the truth. That doesnt mean EVERY school that wasn’t Auburn lied to him. I have no problem with Corey and his decision.

Speak softly, and carry a big Spear

by tdchrisdavis on Feb 3, 2010 1:03 PM EST reply actions

I don't have a problem with him picking Auburn

but the ESPN guy asked “what made you choose between FSU and Auburn” and his answer was about Auburn being truthful. The implication was that we lied to him. I’m fine with his decision to go but I don’t like a major recruit implying that we were anything other than truthful to him.

by Squaaad Up!! on Feb 3, 2010 1:05 PM EST up reply actions

Did you hear him and Smith speak?

They are not masters of the english language. I don’t think he is trying to imply anything.

Speak softly, and carry a big Spear

by tdchrisdavis on Feb 3, 2010 1:06 PM EST up reply actions

Really??

I know they don’t speak very clearly but “Auburn was truthful to me” is pretty cut and dry. I’m not freaking out here, I would just like to know what he is referring to.

by Squaaad Up!! on Feb 3, 2010 1:07 PM EST up reply actions

He's just saying Auburn was truthful

That doesn’t mean FSU wasn’t.

Speak softly, and carry a big Spear

by tdchrisdavis on Feb 3, 2010 1:08 PM EST up reply actions

agreed...

he didn’t direct his remark directly towards FSU

by KnoxNole on Feb 3, 2010 1:10 PM EST up reply actions

I heard the same thing as SU...

…the ESPN guy first asked him who the finalists were…he answered FSU and Auburn. Then he asked how he made the decision between the two schools…Lemonier said he had to decide who was lying to him and who was telling him the truth.

Pretty cut and dry right there. If both were telling the truth, why would he say he had to decide who was lying to him?

by Pinto on Feb 3, 2010 1:13 PM EST up reply actions

he didn't

some bonehead who was upset that he didn’t choose us twisted his words to make it sound like he said that. he said that one of the difficult things about the recruiting process in general was trying to figure out who was lying to him and who was telling the truth. the fact that auburn and fsu were his two finals suggests that they were the two schools he trusted most.

by humanbeing on Feb 3, 2010 1:13 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe he didn't understand the question

because I heard the guy ask how he decided between FSU and Auburn. Maybe I heard him wrong though…

by Pinto on Feb 3, 2010 1:14 PM EST up reply actions

Nobody twisted his words

See Pinto’s comment above. He was answering a clearly asked question as to why he chose Auburn over us and that is how he answered. Ultimately its no big deal, this has taken on a life of its own.

by Squaaad Up!! on Feb 3, 2010 1:15 PM EST up reply actions

We DID get LOTS of players today EVERY team would covet.

Let’s celebrate turning this thing around and not gripe about kids who are “character” issues anyway and “sure things” that were, at BEST 50-50. Go filp a coin a few times for an important lesson.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being disappointed.

He’s a great player on DEFENSE. Do you guys remember how bad our defense was? We have a GREAT defensive class, but this kid is extremely talented and would’ve been huge for us. To deny that is just silly.

I just don’t see how you can’t be a little disappointed. Remember how pumped we all were when TN told us that he was an FSU commit? Now we’re expected to just say “Oh well…no biggie…our class is fine…”

You guys can say that all you wanted, but for each defensive player that doesn’t sign with FSU hurts a little bit, you gotta admit.
