SBNation's Bracketology
SBnation's current bracket prediction has Florida State as a ten seed playing Cornell in Milwaukee.
TC would be a big fan of FSU playing in Milwaukee, not because it would be good for the Seminoles, but good for TC.

Sounds good to me
I see little wiggle room out of the 8-10 seed unless they win at least two games in ACC tourney. As long as we don’t get obviously jobbed like last year’s 5 seed.

Couple of quick questions
After watching the Miami game the other night…and realizing that the place was packed and the atmosphere was electric but the team just was flat (maybe because of the Maryland loss) I got to thinking:
A) Do you think this team is one year too young?
2) Will Alabi be here next year?
D) If you were a betting man, do you see NCAA or NIT this year?
Remember,
We played an all-out exhausting game not even 48 hours before. Ham said it’d be a character game, and a good mental prep for the ACC tourney.
Green) I would like to see this current team a full year older. But it’s not much of an excuse at this point.
ß) Methinks he will finish his degree
Thirdly) NCAA, barring an absolute collapse. I think we could make it at 8-8 with 1 ACC tourney win. I might be on drugs, though.
Yes
They are a year away, Alabi will return and right now they’re even money to go either way. Where alot of people see the remaining schedule as winnable I see trouble waiting right around the corner. The noles could just as easily close 2-5 as 5-2. I don’t see 7 teams in the tourney out of the ACC this year and if they stumble in the next game they’ll be sitting in 8th place.
7 Teams from ACC
I have so much trouble accepting seven teams making the tourney too, but I also don’t see us anything better than 8-8 and 1 ACC tourney win. Sooo, ttaking the next two would go a long way to finishing in top 6 in the league, but Clemson is desperate for a win and we all saw how UM played against VT with their backs against the wall.
There really is no way to know how any of these teams outside Dook will finish the year.

MKE Nole would also be a fan of FSU playing in Milwaukee.
Not because it would be good for the ’Noles, but bc I live here and could go see them play!
For the most part
It’’s an incredibly stressful experience!

Indeed...you think this is tough?
Shoulda’ been around in the wide right years ;-( I still have emotional scars.
And the litany. ‘How can Miami be the Nat’l Champs if they didn’t win the state championship?’

Why does the media still love GT so much?
They are a solid team, but have been overrated all season IMO.

As long as they continue to be overrated
We have W’s against a “good team”
I hope they go undefeated the rest of the year!

They've beaten Duke, Clemson, Wake, Charlotte (currently a likely at-large selection) and Siena (a lock for an at-large selection if they don't win their tourney) as well, and have zero bad losses and zero blowout losses.
I think overall they are a better team than we are. We just seem to matchup very well with them.
ESPN Lunardi Bracketology, 2/8 edition, out as well.
Noles an #8 seed in Oklahoma City vs. Ole Miss:

Also, Shlabach’s Bubble Watch, which correctly points out that repeatedly splitting two-game “sets” in the ACC is not going to get us an invitation to the dance:

It is if...
everyone else continues to do the same thing and other conferences suck (pac 10 and SEC). Bubble is WEAK this year.
9-7 is a virtual lock, imo.
8-8 and you need to beat the right team(s) in the ACCT. I think conferences like the MWC and A 10 will take more of those bids than .500 “major” teams.
I agree with you on 9-7 being a lock, especially considering that our RPI ain' t that bad
and 9-7 means another road win.
Of course, I also understand the consternation in looking at the rest schedule, and (keeping in mind the tendencies of our current squad), seeing pratfalls everywhere (e.g.-home vs. Clemson, home vs. Wake).
Its kinda pointless looking at the rest of the schedule and trying to cobble together 9 wins by “assuming” wins here or there, because the Realist fan knows the only game that is even remotely close to a win we can assume is the home game vs. B.C.
Anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 in ACC play would be safely inside the meaty part of the bell curve, if you asked me.
There is no way to peace; peace is the way.
8-8 in ACC
means NIT unless they win 2 games in the ACC Tourney
