Already 0-1 in the office pool I'm in

I’ll go ahead and throw my uneducated guesses into the pot.

Let the misinformation campaign begin!!

I have 4 double digit seeds in the Sweet 16.

by MattDNole on Mar 17, 2010 12:19 PM EDT reply actions

That's nothing

I don’t have a single 1 seed making my Sweet 16

So should I do this?

With my complete lack of basketball knowledge?

Also, my school didn’t make it again.

Unfortunately I am not a true Nole

I went to St. Joe’s. You may have heard of our archrival, Villanova?

Also, when I say complete and utter lack of knowledge, I was serious. I didn’t realize the tournament was going to start this afternoon. I was going to do the bracket when I got home from work. Oh well. There’s always next year.

Lol.

I know about the A10 and the Big 5. Dayton is my other school.

No worries, I made it in just in time and I picked your archrival to win the whole thing. (Sorry about that.)

Now why would I put all my chips on that awful, overseeded team? (I still don’t know who I owe money to after yesterday.) Well, part of my answer’s in the question, but all it really took was one good look at that terrible South bracket and, considering the competition they’ll face, I figured surely no one else will take a chance on these guys – I’m taking the big risk. I mean, there may be some gutsy folks here on TN, but not that gusty, right? So what happens when I log into the bracket today and eye everyone’s eventual national champion picks? I learn that Tomahawk Nation is the most conservative betting community in the history of fake internet gambling. Game over. Did anyone not pick a #1 seed to win the whole thing? Based on the above comments, kudos to MattDNole (gutty) and CelticPride (so gutty), one of whom definitely, and probably both of which, know a lot more about college basketball these days than I do – and after "Rob Morr" yesterday and my realization that (almost) every single TN member’s chosen a legit favorite to win it all, leaving me zero wiggle room for when I don’t nail the long shot, this is admittedly my only consolation. As Coach Ham might say, in so many words: Wait’ll next year. Or the year after that. Or maybe just a couple years after that. Just you wait.

Piece of cake.

Me: Unless I gain access to TC’s bracket in the next half-hour, it’s favorites, conference bias, and instictive hunches that are rarely if ever correct. Worked wonders in football season.

How far did you all have FSU going?

I went with my head, not my heart. I have us 0-1.

And did anybody sign up for the chance to win that $58,000 2011 Infiniti M?

I was hoping I was the only one to see that,

and, possibly, by default, win the car.

Alexander Knapp and TBFisherman both 7-7

AK has UTEP and TB has Butler so only one bracket will be perfect after the a.m. session.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
