Bradham at MLB
In an article today on Andrew Carter's Orlando Sentinel blog he posted "Bradham, by the way, has been working at middle linebacker. He weighs 240 pounds and doesn’t want to add another pound. He is still doing lots of yoga, which he has been doing since last summer, in effort to become more flexible. He is bench pressing 500 pounds, he said, but that’s not as much as he was doing when he was more rigid."
Personally, I like the idea of 252 lb Vince Williams at MLB with Nigel at Sam and either Nigel Carr or Kendal Smith at Will. Nigel's weight and flexibility training seem to be more suited for the strong side whereas a bigger, possibly less mobile Vince stuffs the run in the middle. What are you thoughts?
If Nigel Bradham is the Mike, who should the other starters be? I vote Kendall and Carr, though I think an extra 10 lbs for Carr this summer to put him at 241 would suit the position.

He's been working at every linebacker position. Stoops is trying everyone everywhere to see where they best fit.
Smart move
I’ve heard that Bama moves their LBs around for the same reason as well as to make sure they know the position in the case of injury.

Jimbo has already gone on record
saying that players will be playing multiple positions on the D-line. Don’t know about LB. But doing so would keep opposing offenses confused.
Nothing can stop us....
would also help them understand how their assignment affects the others in coverage etc.
This is very helpful in getting players to understand WHY They need to squeeze a route or feel a receiver and move with him across the zone before turning him over to the next guy.
Yeah, right!
Bradham will end up at SAM I believe
It is very smart of Stoops to at least cross train our present talent. Then when our other four recruits arrive that will just increase our depth and Stoops can repeat the same process with them as well. I would like to see Carr starting at the Will position. He’s taller and longer than K. Smith and if Bradham is at MLB then MAYBE Smith can start at SAM. My ideal scenario would be Carr at WLB, Williams rotating with Luc at Mike, with Bradham at SAM. I still believe Luc will end up starting sometime this year with Vince still getting plenty of PT

Telvin Smith
I read somewhere that he may be a grades concern. Any truth to this?
I think Bradham will
end up all over the field. His size, speed, etc, as well as the fact he will likely be far and away FSU’s best defensive player next year, the type opposing offenses plan for, will likely have him lining up on different downs in any linebacker or DE position.
So besides Mike, expect him to get some reps at DE this spring too.

I don't think he'd beat out Mister Alexander
as a rush end on passing plays. Mr. Mister’s first step is Everette-like.
it's not about starting
it’s about making the offense adjust to Bradham. The more they have to think about accounting for him, wherever he is, the more time they consume in their practices on prepping for that, and the more time the QB is thinking about that and adjusting as the play clock ticks away.

Didn't say it was about starting
Saying that in a passing down, I’ll take Mister over Bradham as a rush end. I guess we disagree about the superiority of Bradham at all facets of defense, something you’re advocating.
and when we hear...the coaches sing
The playbook they love will open up and let us win.
