Nvm, I messed that up. I’ll go NO. Very fun city but the women seemed to underachieve when I was there for Fat Tuesday.

If we win the ACCT (or reach the final), do you think we could get to Jacksonville for the opening rounds?

Only by luck.

The top 4 seeds get selected to the opening round sites. We won’t be a 4 seed. If we make it to Jax it’ll be as a tag a long to a top 4 seed that we just lucked into.

We aren't always pretty, but ... scoreboard!

Loucks, Dulkys, Reid, and Gibson were huge today. Tough to win with Singleton, Snaer, Alabi, and Kitchen struggling, but we pulled it out. 5 ACC road wins is impressive. We could sure use that bye so hopefully we get some help. Go ’Noles!

the more games we win in the acc tournament

the more likely we are to play close to home.

Im praying for a jacksonville/new orleans game that i’d be able to justify driving to.

by B-rod24 on Mar 6, 2010 4:34 PM EST reply actions

We'd have to be a 4 seed or higher to expect a Jax/NOLA pairing.

otherwise we get shuttled where ever our pod leader goes.

I don't think so, baby.

We’re gonna need some magic to make the Sweet 16.

Post UM thoughts

I was at the game yesterday. A few random thoughts:

- Had to be 40-50% Noles there. Great fan support. You could hear warchant and fans throughout. UM student section was almost empty. With an oncampus facility, facing your biggest rival. Sad really.

- Billy Sexton was there behind team bench. Good to see hiim still active with Seminole Boosters.

- We had complete control of the game but we were in constant foul trouble. It finally caught up with last 5 minutes when Singleton and Alabi had to spend so much time on the pine.

- Alabi needs more game experience and development. You can see the raw potential but he gets the ball taken away too easily when he puts it down. At this point, Gibson is alot more polished offensively.

- Loucks, Snaer and Dulkis have some good chemistry when they play together. Loucks is really coming into his own. Never thought that he would when he was a freshman.

- When UM was making the run at the end, Snaer yelled at his teammates and I could clearly read his lips and he told Dulkis, he was going to take his man defensively (“I got him” and then pointed at UM player).

- Kitchens had a very rough game. He doesn’t have the natural PG ability to know when to pass or shoot. He got in the lane a few times and instead of going up strong, he’d force a pass.

Overall, it was a big sigh of relief at the end. Great to be able to support the Noles in person. Back to back NCAA tourney appearances!!! Go WF today and let’s get the #3 seed.

BTW, during the half the talk in concession area was all about Jimbo Fisher and our football program. Everyone is very excited about the future.

Just got back from the Pow Wow in Mount Dora

The Seminole indians were there and they were dancing and putting on a show. They also had Apache, Zuni, Cherokee and you name it. Had a buffalo burger and bought two more turquiose bracelts and a cedar peace pipe carved into an eagle claw on the end. I trying to convince the old lady not to divorce me. She wants me to hand over the credit card.

Arvil Bird was there. That boy is wearing so much silver I don’t know how he stands up straight, wrap around silver belt, arm bands, necklaces, rings the whole show.

" Fisher’s approach to building a winner is lifted from Saban’s playbook. Right down to the terminology such as becoming more "process oriented" as opposed to "results oriented."

" Nick and I are friends," he said. "That guy is one of the best football coaches I’ve ever been around. God knows he’s brilliant. … A lot of the things he believes are a lot of things I believe. We’re very similar!

The process begins!

My job has taken me to all these places many times

which first round site do you like? Please make your selection based on totally superficial criteria, I.E.-hottest chicks, best nightlife, cheapest booze:

March 18 / 20
Dunkin’ Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island
New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
Ford Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
HP Pavilion, San Jose, California

March 19 / 21
HSBC Arena, Buffalo, New York
Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, Florida
Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, Spokane, Washington

Cheap beer…OK City, Milwaukee, Spokane

Women…Jax, OK City, San Jose

Nice lodging…Providence, SJ, Jax/Milw

Cheap lodging…Buffalo, OK City

Nightlife…NO, Jax

Lot’s of variables here. For example…Spokane is usually cheap for lodging, but I don’t include it because of the small number of hotel rooms. They will probably have a premium attached to them. Therefore all opinions based in context of attending the NCAA tourney.

Overall, my choices would be Providence, Milwaukee, Jax, OK City.

Disclaimer…I’m older. I like lots of cheap beer, lodging conditions don’t mean much, ease of transportation matters, and I love having nice babes around to look at…I don’t touch.

Your mileage may vary…see you in Greensboro.

Clipper, you ought to be the Official Travel Consultant for the Tomahawk Nation! Thats a

pretty good rundown. My brother works for CVS and so I have visited him in Providence. As I said, thats a hidden gem, and I would not mind going there. No desire to go back to Jacksonville, although Noles fans currently living in Florida might disagree. Buffalo would certainly be cheap for a Buckeye Nole like myself. If its Spokane or San Jose, I would not go, but the advantage is that those would be late starting games (job considerations).

All things considered, I think you made the right choice: Providence.

TC's Vote: Milwaukee. Would love to see this team in person in the NCAA tournament.

In terms of making it better for the team? Jax or NO. Let’s not get ourselves into another late night game on the west coast or at altitude…see Boise last year.

Providence is a great town, but

I agree with Milwaukee. Great food, reasonably priced, nice downtown, easy access to all areas. The bar/restaurant under the Hilton has a great Happy hour…no Bud selections, but many Miller brands and others also. And I agree with GNOhio and TC…You gotta be able to get there. No Spokane or SJ for me. Milwaukee is big enough to give you everything you want and small enough to get you there easily.

Nobody would be disappointed with Providence.
