ESPN ranks FSU Basketball recruiting class Number 12 in nation (insider-only)
I thought I'd post this for basketball signing day.
Only Four Recruits, but all of them get ranked 94-95 by the ESPN scouts.
Freshman PF Okaro White (ESPN top 40)
Freshman SG Ian MIller (ESPN top 40)
Air Force staff sergeant PF Bernard James
Juco xfer Junior C Jon Kreft
ESPN didn't rank James or Kreft b/c they were transfers, but the scouting grades were 94 and 95 respectively.
On paper it looks like a good class - especially with very little leaving (Goodbye and Good luck, Ryan Reid)

This really slipped under the radar
I know a lot of us are hyped about the momentum of the football program.
It’s not hard to deny the progress of the basketball program because of the two consecutive 1st round losses and we’re in a suddenly weaker ACC. But, it’s actually progress just at a very slow pace.
I couldn't agree more
Yes, I was disappointed with how our season ended last year. But hopefully another year of experience matures these guys and certainly none of them are leaving for the draft this year :)
Alabi is leaving also
Pretty much confirmed now
really? you think he is done?
I expected to get one more year out of him…
It seems to me that he will lose out on a lot of learning, growing, and potentially millions down the road (better career from more experience pre-NBA)
If he goes I think that’s a very bad move

its not confirmed at all
he’s probably going to declare but not hire an agent. Everybody gets the chance to do that once and it would be smart of him to do so.
He wont leave though there’s a possibility that he wont get drafted in the top 20 picks. He’s slid pretty far. Assuming the rookie scale stays the same with a potential lockout he would be giving up a possible 8 million over the 4 years of his rookie deal.
Some scout/website is reporting it's a done deal.
There’s a thread on Warchant.

About Alabi
I feel like he is an overrated player. I like his tenacity on defense, but he is a complete offensive liability, he does not dominate the opposition like a player his size should (I see him get manhandled by smaller centers and forwards far too often), and he seems to only improve at incremental rates. I think we will miss the fact that he can hit free throws and block shots, but I believe we will receive a rather large offensive boost if Alabi leaves and Gibson becomes the man. If that were to happen, I would have to hope Gibson improves his defense. Overall, I don’t view his loss as a huge blow, but I would rather him stick around.
