The Final Chapter in Union Brawl-Cam "Gothellaswag" Wade Pleads Guilty
More than 18 months after he was charged with misdemeanor battery for his role in a November 2008 campus brawl between a handful of Florida State University football players and members of an FSU fraternity, FSU’s Cameron Wade has pleaded guilty to "public affray," a misdemeanor.

Not sure a misdemeanor should get anyone kicked off the team.
If there are other factors at play, however…
MiNDSET? SWAG-ER-ISM!!!

Again, if a player had been in trouble numerous times before, I'd agree.
If they haven’t really gotten in trouble (whether they were exemplary or not), then I just don’t think you go there.
And just so I’m clear, I’d have had no problem if we found him a school to transfer to and he agreed to it. I’m just opposed to kicking him off the team, poof, just like that. Maybe those are the same thing to some/most people, but it’s all in how it’s handled and publicly portrayed.

I know it's not the PC thing to say,
But if teammate/friend is about to get into a fight how can you not help him
depends how much you want a bunk beside him
in the bighouse…. granted I would have helped too but sometimes the correct head has gotta lead
Not in this case IMO
From the accounts I’ve read – our WR crew decided to confront the frat boy losers that day. That’s a willful act and a bad plan.
Yes, once someone gets jumped you try to break it up and you try to get your teammates out of harms way. But here, it sounds like the confrontation was entirely predicatable and could have been avoided had our WRs simply not gone to the Student Union that day.
Next, I think we all get defending yourself/teammate – what I think is indefensible is the person who decided to pick up a metal chair and hurl it into a crowd – striking a woman and causing injury.
If you’ve ever seen a baseball brawl – 90% of the guys are half jogging to the conflict and just throwing their arms around opponents or even teammates and moving them out of the fracas. That’s the right way to handle one of these things. Not grab a chair and toss it.
