FSU vs NCST Face Off in ACC Title Game: Live Game Thread 1PM

WiFi has not been my friend so this abbreviated preview is coming via my iPhone. If you had said FSU and NCST would have met in the finals you probably would have been laughed at but thanks to the ACC going to the silly format that is pool play these teams will face each other for the 4th time this season. Both of these teams look very similar on paper, above average offenses and sub par pitching staffs. It looks like Geoff Parker will get the start for the Noles and he is sporting a nifty 10.00+ ERA in that role. The Wolfpack will throw Alex Sogard despite him pitching 6 innings on Thursday vs Clemson. Both starters will be on short leashes and just about everyone is available for the Noles. As a team NCST has .853 OPS while FSU's is a bit higher at .872. Drew Poulk is the main guy that Nole pitchers need to keep in check by limiting the amount if opportunities he has to drive in runs. FSU will probably take advantage of NCST's poor ability to throw out runners, <25% CS is very poor and the Noles 80+% success rate on the base paths is very good. The Seminoles need to hope that Mike Martin doesn't resort back to what he knows best and that is killing his scoring chances with bunting. 10 runs is probably going to be needed to win this game so small ball is not going to work. Go Noles!
