Tim Brando predicts FSU to play in BCS National Championship
Tim Brando was on Finebaum today. He is picking FSU to play Alabama in the National Championship game. I don't like that we are starting to become a trendy pick to have an outstanding season. I'd rather sneak up on everybody.

6-6 here we come.
Brando is the curse of death.
Christian Ponder: Your favorite quarterback's favorite quarterback.
Brando has his new show tomorrow... fisher is his first guest... coincidence he is hyping FSU?
This team will improve in '10... on its 16-16 conference record over the last 4 years.... after losing 20 games in the last 4 years... after having the 7th worst major-conference defense... after not even winning its own division in the ACC in the last 4.

Ahhh
Now it makes sense. I still would rather he (and the national media as a whole) tone down the FSU hype just a bit. Is Brando’s show TV or radio?

How many questions in...
does he drop the “do you think Bowden was treated unfairly…” question or something along those lines.
BCS Championship?
Not THIS year…cmon, Jimbo JUST took over the reigns, Brando is a brown nosing arse kisser. Hate that guy.
Bruce Feldman stated in his chat today that he expects FSU to win 9 or 10 game and maybe be a BCS contender. The hype train is running through Tallahassee right now.
Art Modell gives me a hard one
Don't worry
they’ll hit the bridge in early September.
If they don’t I think I’ll be getting on the train and grabbing a seat up front.

We'd have to do some serious work in the NonConf
and drop a game in the Conf games (in the context that, beating OU and UF means we are an elite team) inexplicably AND have someone surprise us big time in the ACC.
In other words, 10 wins puts us in the ACC CG no problem.

brando
is a sloppy drunk…with his self important opinions/syndicated power……cant listent to him anymore after the FSU bashing of the bowden handling…….actually still do listen…just laugh at him a lot more now….
Don't have a problem with Brando but..........
I am starting to get a little worried about all the preseason hype. I would love for us to be in the BCS Conversation, but it will take time. We should definitely be better this year, but our D was so bad last year that people are giving us too much respect heading into this year.
I think that Feldman’s prediction of 9 or 10 wins this season seems to be fair. The ACC Championship Game would be a successful season, and if we won the ACC and got to a BCS Game, then we would make out for year one of the Jimbo Era.

I'm usually one to point out that when nothing changed from year to year we were naive to assume the team would turn it around no problem
and I usually NOW say that things have changed, drastically, and therefore we should feel fine elevating expectations now, it’s just hard not to be jaded. I didn’t want expectations to get out of hand for this season, because at the first sign of trouble the Bowdenistas are gonna chime in that he wasn’t the problem and Jimbo’s no good either.

I really don't think that would happen.
My take, for what it’s worth, is that the sole agenda of the “Bowdenistas” was to simply show Bowden more respect than the majority believed he deserved. That is, the majority were not willing to destroy the program to thank Bobby for elevating it. That chapter is over. The Bowdenistas are FSU fans, big time. I think they are simultaneously excited about what Fisher might achieve while at one time disappointed that he is in place now because of a perceived “injustice.” In my opinion no FSU fans, Bowdenistas included, are eager to criticize Jimbo or see him fail.

More like they were Bowden fans first, and FSU fans second.
Fortunately, the majority of Noles had their priorities in the proper order.
When Fisher turns things around quickly, the Bowdenistas won’t enjoy it as much as the rest of us, because they will be working hard to ignore the fact they tried to prevent it all from happenning.

I hope that things have turned around drastically
but I am just not sure we can have should lofty expectations without proving it on the field first. I hope that we live up to the hype. I have just seen other teams that have had such preseason hype, such as Ole Miss last season, that didn’t come close to living up to the expectations. I know that the Ole Miss situation from last season is completely different as they had a decent run in 2008, high ranking going into 2009, and then they busted. We won’t be ranked as high as Ole Miss was to start the season, but we are adding too much pressure when we start using the BCS National Championship for the first year post Bowden.
I think most people who were avid Bowden Supporters realize that change was going to happen, so I don’t think there will be too many people who will bash Jimbo if we don’t have the season that we hope. There will be a few sour apples if we don’t live up to our expecations for year one of the Jimbo Era, but for the most part I think all that drama should fizzle away once we kickoff on September 4th.

If we went to the BCS Championship Game
it’d be a fucking miracle. Predicting us as a favorite to make the game, pre-season, in the situation we’re in, is idiotic. He should be fired. Even if we end up in the game, he should be fired, because it’s a flat-out stupid prediction.
Where's Dan Kendra when you need him?
well I dunno ...
Which one is dumber:
A: FSU team loaded with talent and speed loses 6 games and fields one of the very worst defenses in the NCAA due to lack of coaching, lack of playbooks, lack of process
2: FSU hasn’t had a senior QB start since 2005, and has lost an average of over 5 games per year since then
D: FSU predicted to make MNC game with a process, playbook, coaching, senior QB.
If we made it...
It would be a brilliant prediction by definition.

I'm not worried about the hype.
I don’t believe in it, but that’s a different issue.
The hype itself is largely harmless this season. Those who are uninformed and will be critical of Bowden will do that if we end up with 8 wins or less, regardless of hype. Those who are supportive of him aren’t really going to believe in it because they are more informed anyway. And the players—if Jimbo is truly the type of manager, in control as we think he is—aren’t going to care either way. They are simply going to take it one game at a time, focusing on the process to move forward and expecting perfection from themselves. I suppose there’s some small chance it affects the impressions of fickle recruits. But if disappointing results compared to preseason hype were a major factor in recruits’ mentalities, no one would go to Clemson or Cal.
The end of the season is what matters. When the W-L record tops 9, that’s when people around the country really take notice of FSU again. If it were to dip below 7, it won’t matter what anyone said.
So for now, enjoy the attention.
