Truenole's 2010 Position Outlook: Quarterbacks
Here's my outlook on the QB's. I think we'll be pretty good at this position. Call it a hunch.
I included video of EJ because well, Ponder gets his fair shine. Remember, EJ was playing much injured in 2009 as well. This was unknown by fans at the time.

Well done, as usual...............
I believe Ponders injury has healed up well.Hopefully he is able to go the distance.
In your opinion was the 3 star rating of Ponder accurate and his 5 star performance just good coaching and hard work on his part or did he have better tools than the “experts” knew.
Also as i remember E.J was at one time a 5 star, later “downgraded” to a 4 star. “again by those experts.” Is he healthy also, or is he still questionable? How is the reported chemistry between E.J. AND C.P.7?
In all honesty
I didn’t know anything about Ponder out of High School but he does have good tools. I’d say its a combination of solid tools to work with and coaching. Being a 3 star QB from Texas has worked out well for people (see Colt McCoy).
EJ is apparently recovering well but isn’t 100% just yet. He and Ponder get along fine but its the healthy competition that it needs to be. They certainly push each other and EJ is quite the charismatic leader in his own right.
Ponder's injury
In a weird way, Ponder’s injury worked out well for FSU. It insured he would be back this year and it gave Manuel invaluable experience. I bet most of us feel much more confident about Manuel in 2011 because he got those starts last year.
Thanks for the answers True and....
Mike, Good point on E.J. I had thought that E.J. was hurting all the time he played last year also. If so, he, too showed a bunch of that old- fashioned GRIT& HEART too last year like CP7.
Apparently he was hurt for all 4 starts
It was a shoulder injury which explains why he was floating the ball so much.
I'll have to go back and see the time,
but in the video you posted there is one point where E.J. is shaking his arm in the huddle like he’s trying to work it out (the pain).
And good job on your articles about the NOLES!!!!
I like reading them and the comments too……cant’ wait for the season to start………
Can we get some updates as for what the team is doing, like workout’s, when does fall camp start, etc……maybe I just need to chill out a bit……..I feel like a Groupie…….
FEAR THE SPEAR!!!!!!!!!
I'm working on getting media credentials but even with those
access will be limited to things like that. But whatever pieces of information I come across and interviews I’m granted, I’ll definitely write about and share my thoughts on them.
Yeah there were quite a few floaters
that I thought for sure were going to be picked off. I watched the Maryland game in person and he had serveral that the WRs bailed him out of… and 1-2 they didn’t!
Wowza
I had forgot how awesome that pitch play was from EJ in the Maryland game. What a great play. One of my favorites.
Not an alcoholic, just an FSU grad.
my cousin and i were watchin maryland highlights
and pryor looked like a running back all the way, kinda funny he is a full back
CP7 4 Heisman
He is a running back
But he wanted to get on the field and the coaches wanted him on the field. Phenomenal blocker for his size and just because you line up at fullback in FSU’s offense doesn’t mean you don’t get to catch passes or some outside runs…

I love CP7
but in the limited sample size thus far, I think EJ may run the option better
Another solid article
Keep it up!

nice article truenole!
I’m actually making compiling together an E.J. highlight video right now. Should be done in a week or so! Be sure to check my Youtube account.
