Just a few things to consider about the 2009 season:
If FSU had wielded a passable defense, I'm talking 50th percentile, we absolutely would have beaten: Miami, Boston College and Georgia Tech. We were one miserably stop away from a win in each of these games. One stop.
We also would have likely beaten USF (I don't quite consider it a given, as poorly as our offense performed in that game.)
Think about this. Winning these games, we finish the season 11-2 and defeat Georgia Tech once again in the ACC championship.
Seriously. With even a decent, C+ grade defense, we probably would've won the ACC last season with an 11-2 record. And you have to think we'd have had a decent shot against Iowa.
Obviously, speculation is worthless. But I have to think that with our entire team being A) focused B) in great shape, finally C) closely coached and D) learning modern football schemes...I mean...is it really so unrealistic to think we'll shock the world this season?
