I thought I read a long time ago (here or elsewhere) that he would be in OK for the game, but during the book tour mess (and reading what AC was saying back then) it didn’t sound like it.
I read
that he will be in Tuscaloosa to watch his old friend Joepa. Maybe this was not correct.

I like Brian Kelly a lot. ND may not be serious champ contenders but I think they will beat down their rivals in coming years.

Kelly has overachieved everywhere he's been
but it’s too early for him to start beating good teams for many reasons, e.g., he didn’t recruit his players, esp. the QB, to play in his system, players are learning a new playbook, etc.

I dunno...I have a little hope for our fans.
I was tailgating the first time BC was in town and we offered a couple of passing, BC fans a beer and asked them how they were liking the trip to Tally. They said they were having a great time and that all the locals had been really nice and helpful. So anything’s possible next year haha.
Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.
FSU fans are not nearly as bad as most SEC fans.
In my experiences. UT, UF, UGA, and LSU fans are just intolerable.

Former Florida State receiver Jarmon Fortson, who was dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules in early August and transferred to Division II North Alabama to play for Terry Bowden, showed off all of his skills and big-play potential in the Lions’ 27-10 season-opening win on Saturday against Henderson State.
Fortson had six catches for 126 yards, including a 37-yard touchdown and a reception that went for 48 yards, rushed one time for 13 yards and had two kickoff returns for 43 yards. That’s 182 all-purpose yards.

Which is better, a loss for USF or UF?
I of course hate UF so I always want to see them lose, but does a USF win give them any legitimacy of this whole “big 4” thing and we have to worry about them having a shot at our recruits?
I don’t think so and want to see them pull out the win over UF, but just wanted to see what you guys think.

so you think a UF loss would hurt us (by having USF look good) rather than potential top FL recruits look at FSU as re-emerging and UF trending down?
Yeah CT, I gotta agree with you here.
Sorry Bud, I just don’t see how USF knocking off a terrible FSU team and a Tebowless UF team with revamped staffs is going to impact recruiting all that much.
If we consistently battled USF for recruits, I would agree, but our recruiting is not struggling.

Even though it doesn't look like it will happen
if USF wins the game this could be a huge year for them. The Big East is hot stinking garbage this year. If USF beat UF and then won the BE and played in the OB in Skip’s first year in the short term they would become a pain on the trail.

it won’t be bc USF is that good, but the BE is horrible this year. No team in the conference would have a 500 record in the ACC. With halfway decent coaching USF should be able to out athlete those teams and win enough for the conference crown. Defensively they should dominate everyone except WV and maybe Pitt.

Not as good as our guys, and I don’t think they would pull a top 10 class or anything. But they would increase the work needed to pull one or two kids, and could possibly keep a few local kids home. All in the short term of course. In the end the lack of infrastructure and funds would get to them.

A moment of silence is more than appropriate….I just never got into transposing artifacts from military observances for a civilian tragedy like a terrorist attack….

Remember the firemen, police, and also the military men and women whom all lost their lives. Also, remember those killed that day and the brave civilians on the flight that crashed in PA, whom did something many would never think of doing. But that’s just my 2 cents…take it or leave it!
Aside from a ceremony at the USS Arizona, there isn’t much made over 7 December…I’m not saying the day should go by unmarked, I’m saying that I’m not in favor of doing other things (like what the MLB teams do on Memorial Day and 4 July) that continually treat the day we were viciously attacked without a chance to effectively defend ourselves, as a national, media ballyhooed, patriotic observance.
I’m really not here to discuss this today, and I apologize for dissenting with the popular view. We are agreeing somewhat here, just to different degrees.

However, the economy delayed the stadium a few years so it won’t be built until 2011 or 2012. So they moved the game.

Stockstill is highly regarded in Tennessee. I think he’s destined to get a great job at some point. He’s a good coach.

There is NOTHING to feel good about.
They looked like shit again. Their special teams and defense won that game. Offense still questionable.
