Defense Leads Seminoles to Victory.
43-3. Thats the score of the last two home games against Wake Forest. This year...31-0 Florida State. It was a great performance by the defense as they had 6 sacks. 4 coming from the defensive line.
Wake Forest couldn't get much going on offense, they didn't get past the 50 yard line until midway through the 2nd half. Christian Ponder who is still recovering from a bruise on his upper right arm that he suffered in the Oklahoma game, played very well. Having arguably his best game of the season, throwing for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns. The only bad thing? He got hit and hit and hit. He was sacked 3 times fumbling once which doesn't help his hurt arm.
The offensive line played poorly especially freshman tackle Henry Orelus who was starting in place of injured starter Andrew Datko. The line did get the run game going as the Noles ran for a team total of 201 yards. Lead by Jermaine Thomas who ran for 88 yards. Ty Jones is starting to emerge as the best back of the bunch he had several nice runs in the game.
Other players who are starting to come into their own are Willie Haulstead who had 44 yards on5 catches and had 2 touchdowns. Bjoern Werner had a sack and a couple of nice Qb hurries. EJ Manuel, yes I know we all knew he was good but he looked very efficent throwing a nice td pass on the run to Kenny Shaw who also looks like he will be a playmaker.
This post is by my 14 year old son. His Journalism class had an assignment that he had to right a short essay/story on post it to a blog. So give some feedback and go easy on him about the grammar.

Well done!
This team will improve in '10... on its 16-16 conference record over the last 4 years.... after losing 20 games in the last 4 years... after having the 7th worst major-conference defense... after not even winning its own division in the ACC in the last 4.

I'm not so sure this Jimbo fella is the right man for the job.
Go easy on Dad
He cared enough to come on and stick up for you. My dad types with one finger but he’s there when I need him. If anyone ever wanted to insult me on the ball field with “Your dad can’t type,” I think I could come up with many more effective responses.
Good article and keep writing—-effective written communication is the most important skill to develop in order to succeed academically, and also for many different careers.
And the pro-Nole subject matter is always a good choice.
"There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese." -- Coach Finstock
Your dad won't get that smart again until you are about 28.
Then some of the stuff he said will come back. At least when I see gatorhater12, I know you are being Raised Right!
Great article. Here’s a few tips on tying things together with concise but complete sentences: The line did get the run game going as the Noles ran for a team total of 201 yards. Jermaine Thomas led the running backs with 88 yards. However, Ty Jones is starting to emerge as the best back of the bunch and had several nice runs in the game (maybe say “including a 16 yard run”).
By the way, you write better than some of my employees. Good job!
Sheriff Branford: The fact that you are a sheriff is not germane to the situation.
Buford T. Justice: The god damn Germans got nothin' to do with it!
“Being ‘raised right’ is a classic American apothegm. But we know its meaning better its definition. If asked, we might talk about strong family values and morals, a solid but not dogmatic religious background, and loving parents who taught us to hate the Gators and made us brush our teeth at night before tucking us into bed with a prayer and a lullaby. Ozzie and Harriet stuff.” – Dr. Murray Krantz, FSU child development specialist and author

Wiping tears...
@gatorhater12 – now THAT was funny!
Better than most of the stuff I read round here especially by that FrankD guy.
;)
Well done.

aside from some comma errors and a couple sentence structure tweaks
it’s great. The fluidity of thought and the ability to articulate those thoughts onto paper are things you just don’t see enough of anymore in children.
Logical progression of sentences, and no glaring syntactical errors.
Plus, there are a couple instances where he displays an authorial voice which is important for journalism.
I’d give it an A
"Kill a fly with an axe"
Good work!
I especially like the effective way you opened. You get our attention with a number, then tell us what it means only after our eyebrows pop up. It’s a good effect. It grabs a reader by the collar and says ‘Listen.’
I enjoyed reading your analysis of the game. I don’t have the jock credentials of others on this board, but I’m a lifelong fan of the sport and I’d say your assessment of the Seminoles’ situation right now looks spot on.
My only suggestions for the future would be (1) avoid IM-style lower-case abbreviations in articles like this. I’d avoid “Qb” and “td pass” and go upper-case (QB, TD) or just spell out the words. Also (2) check the punctuation in your sentence about Manuel. Get the structure you want for that thought, pin it down and follow through. The punctuation follows from that.
Thanks for sharing this. You’re a good writer. I look forward to reading more reports.

Well done!
I’m sure we all hope you continue to post and comment here on TN. I’m going to use your post to illustrate to my sons what quality writing can look like when the effort is put forward. Thanks!
