Had to laugh at BC vs. Weber State

I was only able to watch a couple of plays from the BC vs. Weber State game so far. But the opening kickoff, the BC returner looked a little slow. Shocking, I know. But after the opening kickoff, BC gets hit with a delay of game penalty, on the first play!

From there, the QB, Shinskie, tries to take the snap from the right guard. Now, they had the tight end to the right, there were in a three wide set, single back. So, as I'm watching this and laughing at the guard who's swatting his hand away for playing with his fanny, it hits me, he doesn't know what side if the strong side.

Sure enough, they run slants and he he throws the slant to the tight side, where you usually don't want to, the strong safety and Sam are sitting in the lane. First play, picked.

Just gives me some hope for when they come down our way. More later once I've watched the entire game.

Hmm.

They were what we would call slot left, with a tight end to the right and a flanker to the right, single back. So, the QB goes under right guard, thinking he’s the center, meaning he thinks the tight end is the right tackle, meaning he thinks the tight end is to the left, not the right.

So, he throws to the right side when he should have thrown to the left.

Maybe I didn’t describe it well?

that was a nice read natty. espn could have juxtaposed that sequence nicely with Herzlich coming out painted up and screaming…………

Not John Elway

But my first high school game I lined up under guard…twice in one game. We ran the midline option like GT, so it was pretty masked as I stood up and pointed at the Defense in my best Peyton Manning impression, all while sliding my feet to the center.

Geez I felt like such an idiot.
