A.J. Leggett

A.J. Leggett, arguably the best cornerback in Florida for the 2012 class has switched his commitment from the Miami Hurricanes to the Florida State Seminoles, Josh Newberg reports.  Leggett, whose real name is Amos, attends Gulliver Prep in Miami.  He stands 5'11" and weighs in at 170 lbs.  He previously played for Booker T. Washington HS.  Legget's cousin is Mike Harris-- a star in Florida State's secondary.  This is a serious shock.  There had been no substantial talk of this behind the scenes, despite Leggett visiting over the weekend.

As you can see from the video, Leggett has it all. He has great size, is extremely quick, instinctive, and has good hips as well.  He already has an excellent build and there is a chance he is not done growing.  Grades are an unknown for Leggett at this point, but there is plenty of time for him to get them up if there was an issue.

Florida State continues to do an excellent job identifying targets quickly and landing them early.  Leggett is the sixth commitment of the 2012 class. The others are Dalvon Stuckey (6'3" 295lb DT), Delmarick "Mario" Pender (elite RB), P.J. Williams (excellent DB), Chris Casher (very good defensive end) and Dante Fowler, Jr. (excellent defensive end). Florida State already has good talent. With the 2011 and 2012 classes, however, it is about to have great talent.

Florida State continues to assert itself as the dominant recruiting team in the state.  The 'Noles are contending for the top class in 2011, and this early haul for 2012 is perhaps the best in the country as well.  This is an enormous loss for the Hurricanes in their effort to re-take South Florida.
